Father/Daughter Trip Report - 06/25

Featured Replies

Nice report, but I can't help but wonder why in the world Josie wanted a photo with a trash can... Maybe she's turning into an environmentalist and is subtly telling people to use trash cans instead of littering?

Thanks for sharing the report and the pictures. Some of my favorite times at the park are just like this - heading over to the park for a few hours with one or both of my boys for some father/son time. Although sometimes that means just watching them ride (my five year old thinks it is cool that he can ride Woodstock Express alone now so sometimes I'm directed to just wait at the exit for him), it always puts a smile on my face to see them happy!

She was just posing. The fact there was a trash can next to her didn't even register. I didn't bother pointing it out cause I knew I was going to snap a lot of pictures for the TR.

I've taken a picture with a trash can, lol.

Every aspect of the park should be documented for future generations. Including the trash, I guess.

Thanks to all for the kind words.

A couple weeks ago, I went to the park by myself and rode a few "big person" rides. And it was fun. (http://lebeauleblog.wordpress.com/2011/06/06/flying-solo-at-kings-island/) But there's nothing like hearing my daughter scream with delight on Surf Dog. Or laughing her head off as we splash around on the log flume.

Josie used to ride the Great Pumpkin Coaster by herself and was very proud to tell me to sit on the sidelines while she did so. But now she'd rather have me cram my adult-sized rear into a kiddie coaster and have me whip around that little circular track with her. I'll do it while she wants me to. In a few years, she probably won't want me to anymore. Good thing she has a little sister who will be ready for the park in another year or two.

My dad was the one to go with my into the Haunted House and Kookie Kastle when I was young. Those memories are very important to me. You did way more than just cram yourself into a kid's seat.

That's very sweet. I know our trips mean a lot to me. Thankfully, Josie's going to have lots of pictures (and souvenirs) to remember them by. Currently, she doesn't go anywhere without lugging that big Snoopy around with her.

Your daughter is cute as a button. Sounds like you had a great time.

Thanks. It helps that she is a ham for the camera. On our last visit, she struck a pose and my wife said "You have her trained."

We did indeed have a great time as always.
