May 29, 201115 yr A few months ago someone posted a picture of the entrance to the area of the Beach Waterpark that contains the Snake River Rapids water slide. There was a sign that said something like "something exciting is going to happen to this area" next season. Does anybody know if this is a renovation or they are adding a new slide or something?
May 29, 201115 yr I believe so. The park map shows two new attractions past Aztec Adventure that I believe weren't there last year (I'm not certain because I've never been to The Beach before last Friday; I've only browsed their website before that). "Rainforest Rapids", listed on the website under the "Real Chill" category, has this description (from The Beach's website): Shoot the 650-foot whitewater rapids, descending through lushly wooded terrain, a tunnel and the sheer splash of a tumbling waterfall all in 82 degree tropical waters to reach the final splash down. "Toucan Lagoon", a little kids' play area, has this description: Features a zero-depth children's pool bubbling with warm blue water, whimsical marine animals spouting overhead and a rope ladder entry to the miniature body slide. Again, I *think* these are new, I'm not certain.
May 29, 201115 yr Those descriptions are nearly identical to the old descriptions of Snake River Rapids and Jolly Mon Shores, both old attractions that were not always in operation. It seems both were renovated; no attractions were added or removed.
May 30, 201115 yr the two rides have been there for a very long time although they might of got a new look. They were there when i worked the 04-05 season
June 15, 201115 yr New Attractions Open Wednesday at The Beach http://www.fox19.com...ay-at-the-beach The Beach has transformed what was the Snake River Rapids into the "Rainforest Rapids." The million dollar attraction now features rainforest themes and expanded water play elements. Guests will travel through misty tropical forest vegetation to reach a cascading waterfall entryway. Once in their inner tube, they will brave 650-foot whitewater rapids, a tunnel, and tumbling waterfall. This new area will also include something for children. "Toucan Lagoon" is a zero-depth children's pool bubbling with warm water, whimsical marine animals and a rope ladder entry to a miniature body slide.
