Firecracker Coaster Pic

Featured Replies

Yes. I never got the chance to ride it unfortunately. It looks rather rough. Can anyone here remember any ride experiences on how it was back in the day?

It was not rough. It was a fine and fun ride. It traveled the fair circuit after leaving HW, and I do believe I rode it one year at the Ohio State Fair (or was it in South Carolina? one of the two...)

According to RCDB, the ride was at the Ohio State Fair from 1999 to 2009. Not sure where it was at last season...

Wasn't there an incident involving this ride at the state fair in '09? I might have to email Dave...

Edit: The 2009 OSF accident involved the snapped cable on Slingshot.

I seem to remember that this ride was involved in an accident that took it off the circuit.

Columbia, Columbus - I can see how you'd confuse the two :D

That's actually a great picture. Nice use of framing. Any idea if that coaster had a similar layout to the Python at Coney?

I remember riding it when I was a kid, it was a bunch of fun. I remember the ride ops had to push the car around to the lift.
