Years ago a friend conducted business without a set fee,

doing the client decides the price donation method.

After a year she went to fixed fees for the following reasons:

1) The rich rarely paid, but called often.

Saying things like,"I will be very nice to you next time",

saying the same thing on the next visit but no money ever.

2) Middle class paid but felt confused what was a decent fee.

Very afraid they would offend her.

3) No folks that couldnt pay for the service.

Not a one in the entire year.

Business picked up bigtime after going to fixed fees.

The rich folks who had been abusing her got huffy and offended and never came back. She acquired new afluent clients who were

not a problem.

The middle class relaxed, like the structure and were the majority of her return client business.

People who didnt have the money for her services bartered their services and it was a win win situation for all concerned.
