Small Tidbit About Halloween Haunt 2011

Featured Replies

It was announced tonight that the wildly popular Half Pint Brawlers will be returning to Halloween Haunt at Kings Island in 2011. They will begin their show the last weekened of September (first weekend of Haunt).

Since next year Halloween will be on a Monday, I wander if KI will stay open an extra weekend or just close before Halloween.

I find it "amazing" that a park that can't seem to be able to decide the fate of it's own SBNO coaster sitting for over year can have already made a decision for next year's Halloween Haunt...shouldn't they have at least "thought about it" and made a decision during the off-season?! dry.gif

Look at all the posts about the park being packed this month, I went of Friday night this year and was packed more that I have ever seen for a Friday and I haver been going for years. I would want them back as well. I am not a person who likes to see a midget bleed, but figure all the people watching that show is not in front of me in a queue! It is a win win when you want it to be.

Who said that they haven't come up with the fate of it's own SBNO coaster? Not to mention the fact that the fate of a multi-million dollar coaster and any future project involving said coaster is a much bigger decision to make.

My post was meant as a joke…as in “Oh boy, thanks for giving us that “great” announcement…now how about one that we care about”.

Yes, I also believe the park knows what it has planned with SOB…they have certainly had enough time to explore all of their options, and with that in mind why not just announce it? I am SURE that the fate of SOB was on more people’s minds at the park during Halloween Haunt than “I wonder if Half Pint Brawlers are coming back next year…I sure hope they make an announcement so I can start planning now.”

As The Interpreter has said many times in the past, who knows who will even own the park next year…so with that in mind, even with this announcement I don’t feel like anything is set in stone for next year.

The fact that this topic was even started strikes me as just a “Ha Ha to all you naysayers who thought that the Half Pint Brawlers was an awful idea that would fail”. (This "news" could have just been added to the “Do you wanna watch a midget bleed” thread.)

And we all know how that ended up. Refunds. Which is a shame, because I think if done right, a winter event could benefit Cedar Fair`s bottom line. Also on the subject of winter events, Holiday Fest at the Beach Water park, has been renamed to The Beach on Ice.

In all honesty, I believe the surge of guests at the park during the Haunt was also because of the weather and not just due to the Half-Pint Brawlers. I say that because parks all across the country saw a pretty massive increase in attendance thanks to the nicer weather. Yes, there were several shows that were standing-room only for HPB. Yes, the show was immensely popular. But the nice weather was also a contributing factor.

I agree with you entirely. I don't think a whole lot of people went to Haunt specifically to see the HPB, but it was very evident that the show drew very well. They undoubtedly got a lot of good feedback from the show too, which likely accounts for its return.

Pssh, what are you talking about? That ride's station is totally much cooler with those plywood walls around it.

Haha that post literally made me laugh so hard. We all know they just don't want us to see that they are starting to re-track the inside of the station.
