Yesterday while I was outside of the fence the site leader from RMC came out and gave us stickers and talked about the industry. That really made my day! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G928A using Tapatalk

  • Back to the topic at hand... I got sneaky and took some pics while at the Fairgrounds this weekend... Enjoy!

  • Guys I received a large surprise from the Kingdom today. I learned I was being promoted to be in charge of the operation of the Thunder Zone. Apparently I have really impressed in the last few months

Looking at Google News results for both Kentucky Kingdom and Frankfort, KY, I'm not finding anything. Am I missing something?

Rumours are rumours, until I hear the FrankFort tell us anything new, it's a rumourou.

German cities, have to love them.

"Hearing things" and rumors are not the same. And things heard do not become a rumor until those who hear them decide to listen.

Homestar92, also choosing words carefully...

They did?

Terp, who learns the darnest things here (and who likes Frankforters).

That rare moment Terp misses the joke. :)

Not necessarily.

Twas waiting for ze right person to reply...

And the joke was missed? PR changed at Hartland? If that were so, I'd not miss them.

:)

Does that mean Ed Hart will fill in as dean Vernon Wormer?

Yes, the Elections will decide the fate of the Double Secret Probation.

  • 2 weeks later...

Sometimes the oddest things from the oddest places.

Carnival rides.

That is all.

For now.

I've been thinking that about most of these new rides. Rather carnivalish. Certainly a departure from the original Vekoma and HUSS installations from the 90s.

Good news is, these new rides should pack up rather quickly! Hope I'm wrong.......

Does anyone know what the final two rides of "Kingdom Seven" are yet? Or were two of the seven things just general improvements to the park?

^ Yes. I'm sure that someone knows.......

.....TheBEASTunchained, just answering the question......

........On another note......

I wonder if the new trains for T3 have arrived? I mean, the park opens in less than a month from now.

Don't know if anyone has looked at their Facebook, one of the previously unannounced attractions was revealed. Get ready for the thrill of a lifetime on a Zamperla Samba Tower!

They can expand where they give out fair discounts all they want, but if they never advertise their existence, then they've wasted their time.

I'm not a marketing expert at all, but I'm struggling to understand how increased discounts is going to help them, especially given that Kroger is pretty much as common in Louisville as they are here in Cincinnati (a Google search shows at least 3 of them within 10 minutes of the fairgrounds). Maybe they're trying to make discount tickets easier to get for those who live further from Louisville, but even then, how hard is it to stop at a Kroger store on your way to the fairgrounds and get tickets? Are they really going to get that many people who are only attending the fair because they happened to see discount tickets while shopping at their favorite store? Even so, these aren't typically the kind of people who are going to spend a lot of money at the fair.

The $20-a-carload thing is a risky move. I can see how it might work to their advantage, but given the reputation of that neighborhood, I really don't think that's a good idea.

Seems they're trying to "fix" every possible problem without actually being aware of what the problem is. They should have started researching problems last year as soon as they got revenue/attendance numbers - not 5 months before this year's fair when you should be in the thick of planning things.

I'm also laughing at the whole "maybe we should increase how much we charge vendors" idea. There is absolutely no way that is a good plan, especially if the fair board makes any money off food and beverage purchases. Increasing prices following a down year will either scare vendors away or cause them to pass the costs on to consumers, at which point we're back to the "fair food is too expensive" scenario.
