Cedar Point

Featured Replies

The fiance and I are about to make the trek to CP. I have not been to the park in about 10 years (or w.e. year Raptor opened). What are some of the must ride rides the park has this year? Also it will be a thursday what sort of crowds should I expect? With a reg admission ticket can we leave and re-enter? Any off the wall food spots in the park or outside the park we should stop at? any help would be awesome...

Re-entry is not an issue. Be sure to get your hand stamped.

Lots of good advice here:

Also, just put +Cedar +Point +Magnum +Gate in the search field and all kinds of good topics and advice will pop up...

Don't miss the frozen custard, sold ONLY back by Maverick in the fire station type stand and in front of the kid's water play fountain...the other stands sell soft serve ice cream...not the same thing!

oh terp.... i feel so dumb sometimes... sometimes i feel like i have only been a member here for a few days and forget about the wonderful search feature.....

The big ones are Millennium Force, Top Thrill, Magnum, Raptor, and Maverick. Of course you should ride those, but the two that are classics and get passed by pretty often are Wildcat and Blue Streak. Be sure to ride those two!

As for food, all I have to say is to check this place out: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Sandusky-OH/New-Sandusky-Fish-Company/284506720839

I'm really not sure what kinda crowd you'll get, probably not as bad as my trip. I went 2 days, on a Tuesday and a Wednesday. On Tuesday only the big 3 (millie, Maverick, TTD) had long hour plus waits. Everything else was nearly a walk on, including Raptor, and Magnum. Wednesday the park was packed... maybe not as bad as a Saturday, but in comparison everything had at least a little wait, Raptor had a 45 minute wait, Magnum was about 15 minutes.

Anyway your story sounds a lot like mine. My last trip to Cedar Point was 1995, and Raptor was the newest attraction. I had a blast, and I hope you have a lot of fun too.

Re-entry is allowed at every gate, you can even exit one gate and re-enter at another without a problem as long as you have a "hand" stamp.

As everyone has stated, the MUST rides are Millennium, Maverick, Top Thrill Dragster, Magnum, Raptor, and I would even throw Wicked Twister in there. As far as food goes, outside the park, make sure to hit up Chet and Matt's, best pizza in town.

wow what a day... a TR is on the way soon, and thanks guys for the wonderful tips and helps

And remember that perch are in season this time of the year. Anywhere you can find fresh (never frozen) perch, it should be good! And Raptor's line typically gets shorter in the afternoon, while Dragsters is shorter in the morning.
