It seems the news is overreacting, from what I read, the power was out for one minute. One minute without power, then everything started back up again. So you got an extra minute sitting on a lift hill, I dont get why its such a big ordeal.

Two words: New Jersey.

Rides must be evacuated there in many cases when they could just be restarted if the ride were in another state. New Jersey has a very strict, and very different, operating environment.

The local paper, The Asbury Park Press, reports that Angel Aristone of PR at GAd says all riders were evacuated at the end of the ride cycles:

The rides then were shut down for safety checks.

The news is making is sound as if all the rides just suddenly stopped in the middle of the ride, even if they weren't on the lifts/brakes which is 100% wrong. News trying to scare the public...whats new?
