Adventure Express Underated

Featured Replies

Anyone agree, it may not be intense but the fun factor is awesome, esp at night and the last car.

I'm not sure about it being underated, but it's for sure underrated.

^What?

It is one of my favorite mine trains...the best part about riding it at night is no line! Rode it 5 times in a row a couple weeks ago..:)

Oh :P

I love AE. It is one of the few rides at KI that has enough themeing present and working that they actually add to the ride.

I also love the views you get of SOB from the ride.

LOL!!! nice I didn't notice that, haha

I love this forum, lol

I actually think it's overrated. I mean, come on, Drop Tower is a 4 and it's a 5! I'd call that an over-

-oh, you mean in guest opinion? I don't really think it's overrated, just kind of...forgotten. Nearly all the coaster enthusiasts I know like it, but most of the GP I know doesn't hate it, just, really doesn't love it. I think it's great.

I think if all the original effects were working it would be a great ride with theme. Right now its ok. But I don't like the jerk that it gives you. I mean wehn you turn right, for me it feels like I get slammed left, then get slammed right. But it's still a fun ride, that gets really fast out of no where lol.

But the problem is that if you smooth out those transitions, the ride wouldn't feel nearly as out of control.

Hahaha, this is exactly the type of thread I was looking for. Of course I think it's underrated! I mean, it's not a hypercoaster, but for what it is, it's a great ride!

Exactly!. lol, is the smoke still there at night?

Over rated. A few years ago I would have said it was under rated, but a few people on KIC have been claiming it's the best coaster at KI. And on an off-season game, they managed to vote out every coaster and have Adventure Express be voted the #1 coaster at KI. I do like AE, but if the line gets longer than the station, I don't ride it. Just not worth it.

Our family makes Adventure Express our first coaster of the visit. It's tradition!

Last Tuesday, it wasn't open for operation. We realized just how much we love it.

One of the few rides I still consistently ride when I visit.

It's one of the most unique attractions I've been on (and no not because of lift 2)

I think people after a period of time compare rides like AE to others like DB, you have to judge each ride for what it is.

It's a fun ride....I never ride it more than once or anything simply because I think every other coaster at KI is better.....I'd rather ride Racer with no wait than AE with no wait. But a good time definitely.

I think it's a fun little coaster. I love seeing the man with the spear through him and love to see the infamous tiki dudes! I'm glad to see the lava effect has been turned back on!

Could it be better? Yes. But it's what we've got! I do like seeing the up close views of SOB. For what it's worth I've heard that AE outranks Cedar Creek Mine Ride from several people!

The lava effects back on? Awesome!

Adventure Express is my favorite mine ride in operation. In fact, it's the only mine ride that I will go out of my way to ride, as I've never been the biggest fan of them. I love the themed tunnels, I love the way that most of the themeing is still working, and I love it because it was my first roller coaster outside of (then) Hannah-Barbara Land. It is jerky and painful at times, but it's a mine ride. Isn't that the point?

As far as Adventure Express being better than Cedar Creek Mine Ride: CCMR really isn't that great of a mine train. Sure, it's fast, jerky, and out of control but it lacks themeing. It rides just like Adventure Express, but no themeing makes it a coaster that I have passed by on multiple visits.

To be honest, CCMR is a snoozefest. Although it's technically a rollercoaster, it's not a rolleroaster. cool.gif

I love how AE never has a line. I rode it 6 times in a row yesterday with out even getting off. My friend and I kept on trying to grab a leaf off one of the trees while riding. It was really fun. And I agree, AE is waaaaaay better than CCMR as I stated in my Cedar Point TR.
