5-29 SHORT TR

Featured Replies

I just got back from KI, so I figured I'd post a small TR on what happened.

We got there at 9 for ERT and began our day with a ride on Diamondback. Good. After seeing that The Beast was running and realized that I still haven't gotten a front row ride on it yet this season, we ran over in that direction. It was running, but the station was EMPTY. There was just one other person on the train with us, and when we left there was no one in sight.

The front row on The Beast is my favorite seat. It's unbelievably smooth compared to riding in the 3rd row of a car near the back of the train. The helix was great as usual. When we arrived back at the station we saw a few more people in line, and of course some where waiting for the front. The ride-op offered another ride in an empty seat. We grabbed 4:2. The ride was a little bumpy, but not a brain rattler. It felt a lot quicker in the back, but not as intense as the front. At our next stop at the station we were given another re-ride in the same seat. The train was full at this point, so we figured that this would be our last ride. It was.

After our 3 ride marathon without leaving the station, we decided to squeeze in one last ride on Diamondback before ERT ended. After ERT we ran towards X-base so my dad could get his first ride on Firehawk, but guess what... it was closed with a line gathered up. In my experience, Firehawk is the least reliable ride in the park. We got a ride on Flight of Fear instead.

We finished off our short day with a ride on The Racer (only the red side was running), Delirium, Adventure Express, Flight Deck, and Vortex. The Adventure Express brought back a lot of memories since that was my first ride on it since I was about 12. Of course I rode Vortex in 5:1, which is my favorite seat. The crowds were starting to pile up, so we left just before noon.

Other than that, the day was pretty uneventful. The Memorial Decorations on International Street were cool, and the hour long ERT was a lot of fun. Thanks for reading!

^ Good until noon. The crowds were light early but the lines started to pile up so we left. On our way out there was a long line at the ticket window.
