Haunt: First SATURDAY night

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. First time poster here. Had a question about the Haunt.

I went last year mid-October on a Friday night. While it was pretty crowded (hour wait for Urgent Scare), we still had a blast! I've been told that Fridays tend to be less busy than Saturdays, and the crowds are lighter early in the Haunt season and very crowded closer to Halloween.

Any idea what the crowds will be like on the first Saturday night? (September 27th). Based on the above information I'm thinking it won't be too bad. Any thoughts or experiences?

Thanks!

the first saturday sounds like itll be packed to me it being the first saturday and all...

to be safe you should go next saturday if possible

and welcome to KICentral! lol

The eariler you go in the year the less crowded it is. Just an FYI if you go later in the year it will get gold at night,.

And here I thought it got platinum.

given the possible chance of rain that day, and it being early in haunt season, topped off with the fact it isnt open during the day to the public should make for the BEST saturday of the year to visit haunt. It will just get more crowded from there...

Is the park closed for a private event on this Saturday till Haunt starts at 7? Or is it closed until 7 to everyone?

Thanks for the info. Next question, does Toyota's event have the option to attend haunt included in their admission for the day? Or will they have to purchase a regular admission ticket like the GP? I'm just trying to gauge how heavy crowds will be.

10 dollars per person.

Here's a secret....

Go later in October(now they might do it this year) they did something a couple years ago(or last year) were they extended haunt for 5 more days(it was like 26th-31st) I went on these day's and every haunt attraction was walk on and every ride was walk on. =]

Edit: just notice that the park is open on the 30-31st but they both fall on a weekend :( so might eh.

That something was called Bare Bones Nights. Those nights were among the most empty I have ever observed at Kings Island. They were not repeated. If they are again, I'd hope and trust they promote it heavily. I can't imagine the park even broke even on Bare Bones Nights last time around.

I have no idea about that. I just read on here that it was Toyota's day.

I get to go in before 7 thats casue I got fright Fest tickets I get to go in at 6. Aint I a seaky devil.

That is what I thought, but KI is open during the day for a buyout. So, all of those people will have the option to buy a ticket for Haunt, which would make it more crowded. I hope the crowds aren't too bad. But yes, it probably will still be the best Saturday of the year.

What is Fright Fest? Do you mean Fright Feast, or Halloween Haunt?

I am holding my tongue and not answering this question in the vain hope that Mr. Kinzel will buy me a cookie! :)

Terpy, who knows very, very well what and where Fright Fest is. . .

Haha. I decided to look it up. I thought I had heard that before, but I wasn't sure about what for, and I didn't feel like looking it up since I thought he was referring to KI's Halloween experience.

Yep, if Mr. Kinzel doesn't buy me a cookie, perhaps Mr. Shapiro will. With the bonuses he received when that company filed bankruptcy, I am sure he can afford to buy me a cookie.

Terpy, not one for sitting on top of doghouses

This is my first time going to the Haunt. I was just wondering if it is inappropriate for teenage kids? My son is 14.

^Last year was my first year, and I was 12. I would not say it's too inappropriate for a 14 year old, but a 12 year old is just the right age to start going, I think.

Most of it isn't necessarily it would be innapropriate. Most things (with the exception of Club Blood and Hot Blooded) aren't innapropriate. Most of Haunt is just getting scared and bllod and gore. Somee attractions just scare you like CarnEvil, where there is little gore. I think he should be fine if he doesn't mind being scared. It depends on maturity.

Holy crap! I just checked the webcam and you can barely see the splashdown and Rivertown looks totally fogged out. If you complained about fog last night, I think they made up for it tonight. :)

I believe at least most of it is fog. On the webcam, the overview of Rivertown is pretty white, and then when it shows the Diamondback lifthill, it is by far more sparse, but it looks thicker towards the ground.

It rained so much last night but It was closer to 10 when it started to rain really bad.

It was once again miserable last night. My spot in Tombstone I swear is the most open of them all, and I got drenched, and almost froze. I had so much fun though, it was great.(even if poured water out of my shoe)
