Speed Dating On A Roller Coaster

Featured Replies

A company has come up with a new dating service which allows couples to experience the ups and downs of a relationship before they are even together. Singles can go to a Staffordshire theme park and have speed dates on a rollercoaster. Morwenna Angove, sales and marketing director of the park, said, "We pride ourselves on offering our visitors the ultimate day out or short break and have an amazing combination of adrenalin-inducing rides and attractions. We're confident that combining such thrilling experiences with the added exhilaration of meeting a potential new partner will ensure the most memorable date ever."

Dave, the probability of that happening is higher than you think... *cough*.

Back on topic: I don't like this one bit. This place is supposed to be an amusement park, not a dating service.

Eh I say why not? If it's speed dating, the people are just meeting each other so (most likely) they're not going to be gettin fresh with each other right away haha. And it might draw a few extra guests that the park wouldn't normally see.

Just like Alton Towers to come up with a new stunt to gain attention. They have had so many publicity stunts this year.

Not like Kings Island.... eating competitions, high wire walks, sports teams, concerts, tennis matches in the fountain, etc.

On Sunday I did see a couple kissing at the top of Millennium Force.

You may have also seen them on Magnum, Blue Streak, and Wildcat..

..I mean, what? 0:)

tehe :)

I can see people kissing on Drop Tower - takes too long to get up, so why wait?

I think this speed dating thing on a coaster is so weird......

I can see people kissing on Drop Tower...

Sadly so have I.

PDA at amusement parks = Justin's biggest pet peeve.

I don't mind a hug and a kiss. I've noticed that couples who are afraid of public affection usually do not last.. if you're ashamed to show affection to him or her in public, then I can guarantee that your relationship isn't healthy to start with.

It's just when people are all over each other and practically doing it in the queue, that it gets on my nerves. Tone it down to G rated.. amusement parks are where people take their kids and families. It's not a strip club or a bar.. have some respect for each other and the people around you.

Ive always found roller coasters a great way to know people. Whether it be going up the lift hill or sitting on the brake runs, you learn alot about a person in 3 minutes.

I don't think it has anything to do with fear of public affection, or being ashamed to show it in public. For me it comes right down to the fact that couples performing PDAs in public make the rest of their group and/or the people in the immediate vicinity extremely uncomfortable (And contrary to what a certain someone has told me, it has NOTHING to do with "jealousy")

I figure if someone doesn't like a couple showing affection, they could just look away. Or if they think it's that big of an issue, they could: 1. get over it, 2. get a life, or 3. get a girlfriend or boyfriend. Or all of the above. :)

I have noticed that it is the single people who usually grumble about even a simple PDA, whereas those in a relationship find it cute.. such a human tendency is indeed rooted in jealousy as I have learned, so I honestly don't care what others think.

When you are the mother of a four year old child with lots of questions, we will ask you if your views on this matter have changed. Some do, some don't.

Terpy, one of the things I like so much about you is that your wisdom is so global.

I would not be uncomfortable with a little one asking me about a couple politley kissing or hugging. I do think making out and hanging all over eachother is just rude. I'll get jealouos that I'm not doing the same with my wife (in privacy). Don't chomp a juicy burger in front of me if I can't eat till tomorrow :) !

PDA= good

PDS= bad
