Canada's Wonderland SkyRider

Featured Replies

it looks like king cobra in my opinion. check it out. Look at the loops. the only difference is on king cobra the track is green and yellow and on skyrider the track is orange and green.

King Cobra

SkyRider

No, they are not. They were/are similar, but they are not identical. Not only is the configuration slightly different, but King Cobra, the prototype, was also made of inferior steel. It is for this reason that it did not survive as long as the others have.

Terpy, who has ridden all three and could probably tell you which he was riding while blindfolded...but especially as between Shockwave and either of the other two...

Shockwave is the oddball of the three. King Cobra and SkyRider are very very similar, but Shockwave is just a bit different.

And it's operated differently, too. One could read a book while waiting for the ascent of the lifthill to complete, were loose articles permitted on the ride!

Now I have finally ridden SkyRider, King Cobra and SkyRider had nearly identical layout. I believe Shockwave had one less element (Helix?). Frankly, I am not a fan of Togo standup or any standup coasters.

It's got a helix. IIRC, it's missing one out-and-back with a couple airtime bunny hills. It's also missing a trick track section. I don't recall if SkyRider has a trick track though.
