Park related questions

Featured Replies

Hi All. We are (hopefully!) planning a trip to KI in late August. We have Platinum Passes from CP and visit CP frequently. I have some park related questions that I'm hoping you all can help me with. Forgive me if I compare KI to CP, but I'm just trying to get an idea on some things so I can plan our trip accordingly.

Does KI have a picnic area like CP does? We are hoping to save some money by packing our lunch and love to use the pavillion at CP.

Do you have any recommendations for hotels in the area? We would need something that would accomodate all of us, so essentially two double/queen beds and a fold out couch or a rollaway accomodation. We would also prefer something with breakfast included. We don't mind to drive 15 to 20 minutes to get to the park, if the accomodations are right for us.

Since we visit CP frequently, we have a family rule of one food treat per visit. Can you give me an idea of what food runs in the park? Say for funnel cakes, corn/hot dogs, etc. Also, CP offers free water at the concession stands, does KI do the same?

Thanks in advance for your assistance!

Holly

There are picnic tables near the entrance to the park where you can bring your owned bag lunches. You'll find food prices generally similar to Cedar Point's. Make sure you let us know how it goes!

There are number of hotels at both exit 19 off 71 (3 miles south of park) and exit 25 (1 mile north), and most are inexpensive and reasonable. If price isn't a concern, you can stay 'on property' so to speak at great wolf lodge, where 1 suite would prob suffice for your family. Have fun!
