September 2, 200916 yr I was talking about how much alike Diamondback and Intimidator would look. Sorry for not being specific. You could see Diamondback then Intimidator and it would look pretty much the same on the skyline.
September 3, 200916 yr A couple pictures. I think the first one is the same, but the second one has an additional piece of track: http://www.carowindsconnection.com/viewtop...;p=34677#p34677
September 16, 200916 yr Most of the brake run is complete, except for the transfer piece. The transition piece from the station to the lift hill has been installed. Webcam: http://intimidator.carowinds.com/public/webcam/index.cfm
September 30, 200916 yr While not much has been posted here (Or on the coaster's official site), work continues on the newest B&M Hyper to grace the Earth. Intimidator's lift hill is well underway, as you can see from this webcam shot from a few minutes ago:
September 30, 200916 yr Looks great. I don't know if I'm going to be making it next season or not but I'm going to go to Kings Dominon and Busch Gardens
October 8, 200916 yr Don't know how new it is, but the webcam has been adjusted to accommodate the height of the lift, now hundreds of feet tall:
October 16, 200916 yr Lift hill has been topped off and the first drop is underway: http://www.intimidator.carowinds.com/publi...llery/index.cfm
October 16, 200916 yr Looks like another great B&M hyper! I think 305 is kinda overshadowing this coaster a little bit...
October 16, 200916 yr ^Agreed, but you and me both know that 305 will get much more attention because of the fact that it is taller and faster.
October 21, 200916 yr First drop is done, and work on the second hill is moving right along. Kudos to this construction team!
October 22, 200916 yr It does! But Im not complaining, more Diamondback in this world is hardly a bad thing!
October 23, 200916 yr Diamondback's little (but taller) brother looks just like him! They do look very much alike, the only thing that i can see different is the curved angle at the top of the supports on DB where the ones on intimidator are straight. I just wonder when CF will build a new coaster with a track color that is not a shade of red.
October 23, 200916 yr Technically, it is a 215' first drop from a height of 230'. Remember, that the drop doesn`t go all the way to the ground!
October 23, 200916 yr Yea I know I thought about that afte rI posted it but didnt feel like editing the post.
October 23, 200916 yr Did Diamondback really build this fast? It felt so much longer! I guess excitement does that.
October 23, 200916 yr I remeber the last day they had some of the 1st hill and the lift topped off so I think this is coming together faster than Diamondback
October 26, 200916 yr Before everyone says it, I'll say it first. Yummmy...... Also, a new angle to the webcam has been added. I'm sure we're gonna see more delicious views from this angle.
October 26, 200916 yr It looks great but its hard to bbeat a 230 foot fist drop over the midway. That's very true indeed. The midway view has provided us with some very interesting pictures of Diamondback indeed.
October 28, 200916 yr Before everyone says it, I'll say it first. Yum... This ride look great! I love how B&M hypers are so photogenic.
October 28, 200916 yr Some nice pictures have been posted one Carowinds Connection at: http://www.carowindsconnection.com/viewtop...&start=1635 I personally think the second hill looks betting in real pictures than in the rendering. I thought it looked like a gradual slope for the descent and now it is definitely steeper and twistier looking. I like it!!!
October 29, 200916 yr Looking good. I dont like those cream supports though. I think black ones would look so much better for the first drop.
October 29, 200916 yr I'm in love. You're not the only one. I can't wait until spring so I can ride the new monsters down south.
