June 21, 200917 yr June 21st is Coney`s birthday. It is 123 years old this year! Back in 1886, James Parker sold his apple orchard in March to the Ohio Grove Corporation for $17,500. They made improvements to the property and opened "Ohio Grove: The Coney Island of the West" on a rainy June 21st, 1886. The following year, the Ohio Grove name was dropped and the park was simply "Coney Island." Happy Birthday Coney Island!
June 21, 200917 yr Jeez, time flies (or not). I was unaware that today was Coney Island's birthday. Glad I went now. BTW, it was nice to meet you.
June 22, 200917 yr Author Yep. Today was a rather slow day on the rides side at Coney, but the pool had a very busy day. I also enjoyed the air conditioning in the ticket booth for early shift, even though I do not particularly like working the ticket booth.

June 26, 200917 yr Author Well, I think they will be opening the 100th anniversary time capsule that is in front of Moonlite Gardens on the 125th birthday.
June 26, 200917 yr ^I'm sure there will be a big event to commemorate the opening of the capsule on June 21, 2011
July 28, 200917 yr Author Yep. Which was Coney`s 100th anniversary. And hence why I said "opening the 100th anniversary time capsule that is in front of Moonlite Gardens on the 125th birthday."
