April 26, 200917 yr For years, Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky has enjoyed its reputation as the "Roller Coaster Capital of the World," and with 17 of the "scream machines" scattered throughout its 364-acre grounds, the venerable park has had a legitimate claim to the title. But the big news for area coaster fans this year is some 200 miles south of Sandusky, at Kings Island amusement park near Cincinnati. Kings Island, which like Cedar Point is owned by the giant Cedar Fair partnership, is unveiling a new world-class coaster of its own for the 2009 operating season..... Over at Cedar Point, there's no shiny new coaster this year to mark the park's 140th season. The only notable addition to the park is a new lighted walkway called Starlight Experience, which features more than a million LED lights.... http://toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic...250319/-1/ART10

April 27, 200917 yr (As a point of interest, Diamondback may surpass some of the coasters at Cedar Point in both height and speed, but it's not in the same league as the Point's big daddy, Millennium Force. Launched in 2000, the 310-foot-high coaster reaches speeds of 93 mph, and is consistently voted one of the top steel coasters in the world.) I believe there are some members on here that would disagree with that "point of interest."
April 27, 200917 yr Author I would agree it's not in the same league. Diamondback is far better. Sorry, Giga, I just HAD to
