obviously im new to the forum and i was wondering how often people see each other from the forums. it would be neat to make new friends and see everyone at the park throughout the summer

Well, once you get to know what people look like, you'd be surprised at who's actually at the park at a given time. I've run into Gator, Topgun 1993, Beast 1979, PKIboy, Tubaman, and others while at the park. Obviously, attending the KIC events is a good way to meet up with folks, and I've seen others state that they are going to the park on a certain day and if anyone else is going, maybe they meet up. Hope this helps.

If you're good friends with members on the forum then pretty often outside of the park. I'd say typically every thursday depending on the member.

Besides at events, I have only ran into a few KIC people. When I suspect I see a Coaster Geek, I start talking about KIC kinda loud so they'll hear me and join in.

I do too! I try to mention it at every turn of the conversation.

As for people from KIC, I usually see the mod team walking around and a few people here that work on rides.

I definitely see forums members at KI all the time...one time, I even ran with one to Firehawk during the ROTBs.

I ran into one of my regular customers from work at KI one day, so we rode the blue Racer together before his son called and wanted to meet somewhere else in the park.

Last year at CP, I got out of my car in the SC lot to see two mods from another website I'm on. We walked and talked to the gate, did the Maverick ROTB and rode about 4 rides before they had to go to work, since they were both ride ops too.

thats awesome. i look forward to seeing people there this year. (not gonna lie though im a shy dude so im sure i wont say hi to anyone i do see..and if they say hi to me i'll be all awkward haha) but still come say hi

Most of us post in our signatures or in some topics when we are going on our next trip, and some of us post the day of and/or what we are wearing so we can be identified (if by chance we are spotted).

I do that most of the time, but sometimes I'm guilty of taking spontaneous solo road trips to CP or KI.. then I'll get a call or text "what u doin" and I'll send them a pic of one of the coasters.

You guys will have more than your fair share of times to meet each other this year. Trust me.

Hey i would like to meet you one day at the park if you want to meet up i will be at Kings Island on opening day so i guess if i had your cell i could txt u and we can meet one day at kings isalnd and ride the dimondback. all i need is your cell number.

ill be there opening day myself...im sure i'll see a lot of you guys around. chances are i'll have a couple big cameras around my neck or in my hand so i'll probably be pretty easy to spot

I do the same exact thing. I yell like, "Hey, On that KIC website I go to they said blah blah blah!"

Hopefully someone answers me which usually never happens.

I haven't really met up with a anyone but I have waited in line with Bavarian Beetle for SOB and didn't even know it. I have also met Gordan Bombay and Neme while they were working at The Beast.

It's the mass of people running to a ride when the park drops the rope to allow them into the various areas of the park. Most recently seen for Firehawk, and will undoubtedly be for Diamondback this year. A dangerous practice if you ask me, I would much prefer if they escorted people back by carrying the rope to the ride, with everyone staying behind said rope.

Not a memeber from here, but,

One time, I called in sick to work, the family and I drove down to KI for the day.

While we were there, I ran into a co-worker that did the same thing!!!

That was pretty funny.

^ That is pretty funny. I never ran into anyone here by accident but heck I wouldn't know if I did. I did run into some people from KIAslyum while it was around. I did go to the first ever KICentral park meeting back a few years ago but most of those members no longer post here. I wouldn't mind meeting some peeps at the park but I am kind of shy around new people. I don't know why I wish I wasn't but thats just the way it is.
