America's Best Haunts 2008

Featured Replies

Do they usually? I know many theme park haunts don't even get a spot on these lists and I wonder why...

But Howl-O-Scream at BGE and a Fright Fest at a SF both made it... I wonder how experienced these judges really are. Cause Univeral tops out all the criteria-

Special Effects (Duh, it's a movie company)

Overall Detail of Attraction and Characters (AMAZING job on this)

Consumer Value and Appeal (What's not appealing about it? Value... eh... not so much)

Fear Factor (Duh)

Marketing (Have you seen the Bloody Mary advertisements?)

Longevity in the Marketplace (18 years now)

Safety (I've never heard of any accidents)

Honestly, a website needs to be devoted for rating them. Anybody can get a profile and rate haunted houses/trails/attractions they've been to on a scale of one-to-ten and change them when wanted. This way, the average for each attraction could help determine the most popular/scary, whichever users rank on.

I'm sure they're at least as experienced as the folk that do the Golden Ticket Beauty Contest Awards.
