My Trip Around Lake Erie Part 1

Featured Replies

Hey all,

I just got back from a 7 day trip around Lake Erie.

My friend and I hit Niagara Falls, Toronto, and Sandusky,

along with amusement parks along they way.

Sunday July 27 ; We hit Darien Lake on are way to Niagara Falls.

We got there around 11:30am and were hoping for a dead park but to my surprise the place was packed. The plan was to ride all the coasters but I wanted to make sure

I got my friend on the "Caves of the Winds" at Niagara Falls before we went across the border. We had to shorten are list

quickly so we only got 2 coaster rides in and a scrambler ride in that was slow and bumpy. First was "Ride of Steel". I wanted to see how it compared to

"Millennium Force" being that it was a Intamin Mega Coaster. The line was long and the crew was very slow.

45 min wait on that and it wasn't that great. To be fair it was a OK Mega coaster. 7 out of 10.

Next was " Viper" for I have a soft spot for

arrow loopers and I heard this was one of the best. It was a walk on. I didn't care for the cushioning on the seat for I'm 6'2" and it sat really wrong on my

back. I would have to agree even with the painful seat cushion it was a really smooth arrow looper. 8 out of 10.

After that me and my friend got are self a couple "Viper" shirts and we headed out to Niagara falls.

I'm tired so I will write more hopefully tomorrow, for I got lots to say. Sneak Peek my fellow Kings Islanders, if are coaster is anything like "Behemoth" we are going to be very happy folks!

We saw it as we waited for "Ride of Steel" and even though we both liked woodies, when we saw everyones head bobbing over the hills on that ride, we both said, pass.

So how did you like CW?? Also, what was the trim situation like on Behemoth?

When I went in June Behemoth wasn't really using any trims, and I didn't even hear a peep from the MCBR as well!! Of course, the temps on the days I went possibly didn't even hit 80.

And also, too bad your didn't like ROS as I thought it was a million times better than MF!! I went to DL on Father's Day and although it seemed very busy, the waits were not bad at all...ROS 45 mins at the max with slow ride op's partly due to a walk of shame on every train!! Their SLC (Mind Bender??...I dunno, this summer's coasters are running together!) was slow only due to a one train op until they added the 2nd.

But anyway, hope you had a good trip, and I hope Behemoth measures up to whatever KI is getting in 09!!
