Noob in search of park advice

Featured Replies

Hi guys. I am researching a trip to Kings Island and I ran across this forum. Hoping you all could share some insight.

I haven't been to KI since probably 1981. In the 70's we would be there at opening time and run to The Racer to beat the lines. What thrill rides queue up the fastest these days?

I am taking a girl who loves thrill rides as much as I do. The Stunt Ride (nee Italian Job) is high on our list as we both drive MINIs. It seems pretty tame but we will do it a few times for sure. We want to get the most out of a one day mid-week visit next month. We'll be staying at the KI Resort.

So any tips on getting the most bang for the buck would be appreciated. Not in need of kids attractions, just thrills and excitement.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I would ride Firehawk then Flight of Fear. After than I would hit dropzone and face/off as those are one of the lowest capcity rides in the park. I would say after that you can ride pretty much whatever else.

Another thing you might want to consider riding somewhat early on as well is Son of Beast, its been getting relitivly long lines latly.

I suggest going to Firehawk, Son of Beast, or Invertigo (Face/off) right when the ropes drop to beat the long lines. Riding Drop Zone, Delirium, Flight of Fear or Crypt early is also a good idea. Ride Vortex, Beast, Adventure Express, TopGun, Racer Midday because they rarely have huge lines. Make sure to ride Son of Beast in the very front seat no matter how long the line is. Firehawk is alot better in the front car, Try Vortex in the last car. And when riding Beast/Racer try to get a Middle seat thats not over a wheel. But if your going Mid week (Monday - Thurs) you shouldn't have to deal with huge lines.

(I see the Cedar Fair renaming to Drop Tower isn't taking...even with the regulars!)

I would recommend Vortex in the very front seat or the front seat of car five...

Have a great time, and don't forget the shows!

Quick replies! Thanks guys. We're really looking forward to this as me and this lady live 500 miles apart and KI is sort of a halfway meeting point for a getaway. We will try to minimize the Making Out In Lines!

The Firehawk lines can be pretty fierce! And from where faceoff is one train it can take a while for that one also. ;)
