Wood that have been nice to witness.

On the lift hill of Mystic Timbers,  the car behind me telling her riding mate that this was the fastest wooden coaster in the world and if they went faster they would fall apart.

A person in MT line. "KI is a lot better that CP. The rides here actualy work. All the rides at CP are always down."

Interesting info, key word ALL..

I saw a guest yelling at a Mystic Timbers associate because he didn't want to put his family's bags in a locker

He walked away in anger.

During my last trip to KI I was exiting Diamondback and a few people were using the gate to bypass the shop. Someone apparently took great offense to this and called one guy a cheater. He replied with "They should lock it then" 

The offended guy said that he probably cheats on his relationships too. Without missing a beat the "cheater's" wife/girlfriend responded with "How do you think we met!?" 

The offended guys wife/girlfriend starts laughing really hard and he is now quiet. 

I thought the whole thing was hilarious. 

 

While working at MT I heard a middle schooler telling his friends that it was supposed to open last year but the construction workers were too slow

  Saturday at Coasterstock, while in line for DB I again heard the same old rumor.  Young lady behind us in line, " We need to go get a last ride on Vortex, they're tearing it down after this season, because it's sinking" . 

^ Well she is at least partially correct.  Elevation is based of sea level and with sea levels rising it technically is sinking.  So is everything else.

I didn't quite expect to be asked that, as I was wondered how this question had come to be as I politely answered saying that Mystic Timbers is the ride with The Shed.

People who ask stuff like that just try to catch ride operators off guard and make them smile. I've often asked stupid stuff to the ride ops and/or given answers to those questions before to have guests tell me I'm just messing with ya.

In line for MT and the woman behind me was pointing to RFYLCB and thought that was Soak City.

I didn't quite expect to be asked that, as I was wondered how this question had come to be as I politely answered saying that Mystic Timbers is the ride with The Shed.

Before my fireworks ride on WindSeeker got underway, the gentleman next to whom I was seated claimed that when the original Bat was there (where Vortex is), 14 people were killed when two trains crashed into each other and the third flew off the track. I found it to be barely believable and he said "Go look it up on Google; it's there."

So I searched about it on Google, and I found...it's just a rumor and the original Bat had no injuries or fatalities in its three-four seasons of operation. Go search for yourself if you wish.   

It was crazy that he thought that the original Bat closed because of this rumor. But no, it was closed because of maintenance/design issues!!!!

Also, several riders on Vortex were telling me it was haunted. Yes, Kings Island is haunted, but Vortex particularly isn't...

I've been reading up!   Some stories I've heard for years, while others I've seen new info on through the forums here.  I thought maybe @VortexBFForever had a personal experience to share.

Ah ok. That makes sense. yes BFF! we want to hear of any experiences.

I have not (yet) seen any of the ghosts/spirits that are known to lurk at Kings Island, but if I ever have such an experience I will post about it.

Today in the FoF queue, a guest said something about the "poo fog" everyone around laughed and I'm pretty sure the ride ops did too. I've noticed these clouds far too many times.

Sometimes while I check bars on WindSeeker or Vortex, a rider will ask "Has anyone died on here?" Of course I say no, as WindSeeker and Vortex are both perfectly safe.  

^ See I would say something like, "The 5 year survival rate is the best in the industry.  Enjoy your ride!"  

This is why I have never been a ride op and never will be.   

While in line for Mystic Timbers, someone behind me claimed that Top Gun was torn down and replaced with Mystic Timbers. I wanted to tell her that Top Gun is still very much in operation but now know as The Bat, but I just thought nah.
