Americana, when I went there with my family for a CG&E (later Cinergy, now Duke Energy) company picnic when I was a kid. I don't remember when it was, nor do I recall much about the trip, but the park was a mess, and the rides didn't seem very safe.

I'm with you there. KK sucked. Every visit I took out there was worse than the previous one. The first year I went in 1998, I loved it. It didn't have as many rides and attractions as Kings Island, but it was something different with a different lineup of coasters to enjoy that was close to home. But every visit was worse than the last, and the worst thing about the park is it seemed to remove rides more than it added new ones. Kings Island is forever changing and evolving. Kentucky Kingdom just stayed the same.

Holiday World

As much as I adore this park, we had a really bad experience a few years back.

We went a few years back and the customer service was absolutely atrocious to both my family and others. We weren't sure if we had come on a bad day or what, so we turned around and went to Kings Island instead.

True story.

Worst park I have been to is Kings Island. Compared to going to Holiday World and Kings Island at least.

Worst park probably goes to SFGAm, only for one horrible day there. I think almost all of the rides are mediocre at best to begin with, but the ridiculous amounts of money I spent that day, on top of the long, long lines. Not to mention the horrible attitudes of the staff. It was all in all the only day I didn't like at any amusement park.

I really don't have a worst park but I just know that the next time I go to Tennessee I'm not going to waste one whole day in Pigeon Forge, Wonder World was a waste of time and there is a Jurassic Park type ride that look nice from the outside but stunk on the inside. I loved Dollywood and venturing around Gatlinburg.

Personally for me... Kings Dominion.... just due to the stupidity of not having fully operational rides and rude/dumb employees on opening day. No one hate on me, I am giving it another shot in October... but as of this point... They're lucky they have avalanche and volcano lol oh and Pam

Every park has it ups and downs. Like Cedar Point SUCKS at inversions. But the worst I've been to Idlewild. This park has nothing. No idea what to say thats good about it.

Every park, as others have said has its good and bad points, but my worst experience this year was Six Flags Great Adventure. But only because it was 97 degrees with high humidity, then it rained. Not the parks fault, by any means, but it made for an adventure that was not as great as it coulld have been. But, personally, I think CP on a crowded day with its downtime can be horrible.

It's horrible what happened to the girl, but it's time to move on. The accident was nothing more then a accident, they happen every second all around the world.

The hell she went through is something I'll NEVER be able to comprehend but to continually bash and bash a park for it is stupid. Many parks have had accidents where a person had died and has never taken such a beating Kentucky Kingdom has. I just think that in peoples minds the thought of having your feet severed is a lot worse then falling 50 feet. Although, you will die from falling 50 feet.

I'm really touchy about what happened at Kentucky Kingdom, I know many workers who were greatly effected by it and some of those workers don't deserve what happened.

Yea, and that darn Kings Island Park just gives people back problems, strokes, lets drunk people fall out of their flat rides, sends people to the hospital; all of which the park did purposefully!! Can you believe it?!

Those are definitely some judgments you should make since you don't remember when it was or recall much about the trip.

Mrs. Gator and I were wondering about that ride and were thinking about taking GatorGirl on it when we went in November. Like you said it looks pretty good from the outside, but I got to wondering about how good the quality could be since it was just a roadside attraction and not in a park that could put the money into it like IOA or even Dollywood. Good to know we didn't waste our money!

That attraction is one of the worst I have ever seen anywhere.* Avoid it....

*(and I have been to the Royal Gorge Bridge and ridden The Roller Coaster at New York, New York Casino in Las Vegas...sigh)

I thought about going there 2 summers ago, but I decided agaist it and went to ride the go carts instead. Guess I made the right choice.

That is to bad that you didn't enjoy Disney.

I will admit that Disney can be work to enjoy. You have to know how the park works and conform to the Disney way of doing things. When we went last year I had spent over 6 months researching our trip. I knew what to expect and how to flow with the park. As to worst park, I would have to say Camden Park, not that it was that bad, but all the others were better.

Their No Pet Policy that was implanted at Fort Wilderness never left me, nor the family. And their treatment to my grandparents as a result. A bad taste that may never leave my mouth. Funny how it was changed just weeks after we left, appears we were the final straw in a long line of complaints. Grandpa chimed "I'm ready to go back to Cedar Point" constantly his last visit Disney World ever before he left this world.

Then there were the issues in 08 and back in July surrounding my non verbal autistic brother, I rather not put on public boards. Heck, KI customer service was better about my brother than Disney was. I spent maybe 2 hours at magic Kingdom before I spent the rest of the vacation at SeaWorld, happily I must add. Yeah, I'm one person in thousands I expect someone to say. My opinion, no one can change it.

Prior to 2006, I would say most Six Flags parks. But Six Flags has really cleaned things up at most of their properties. Sadly, it is the Cedar Fair parks (except for Cedar Point) where I have most of my negative experiences now, and that sometimes includes Kings Island. (And I usually go to 30-35 parks a year.) Whether it was the line cutters at Dorney, Kings Island, Canada's Wonderland, and Kings Dominion, or the mediocre employess at most of their parks, or the Knott Berry Farm rule that says glasses can not be worn (even with straps) on Pony Express or Xcelerator, or the almost total lack of enforcement of their non-smoking and line-cutting policies, I really feel that most Cedar Fair properties are near the bottom of the list in terms of how they are managed these days.

^...and when I was at SeaWorld in July, I was amazed at line cutters at Manta and Kraken. My 9 yr old niece hollered line jumper and the teenage cutters got back behind us, lol. And then the gum build-up at the entrance of Kraken..

must say- Wally World. Yep Roy Wally World. Took my family there to have the hap-hap-happiest vacation. Wanted to have so much fun we'd have to have plastic surgery to wipe the (explicative) smiles off our faces. Only to find out after driving cross country from our hamlet in Chicago- it was closed! and the only thing to tell us this was a robotic Marty Moose. Worst park ever! After leaving to get some "sporting goods" we were able to ride a few rides with an escort in the park (who I had to "pop" with my Magnum PI). Then, before we were done- we were met by a swat team. The management was just rude to a family trying to have a good time.

^Well, I bet all you would have had to do is have a heart to heart conversation with Roy Wally, reminding him of the times when he would take his own family on vacations across the country. I think he would have had a change of heart, and he may have even ridden some rides with you in the end.

Falling 50 feet is just not the same as sending 2 feet flying through the air on their own. It is so graphic that Kentucky Kingdom will take a beating for it forever. And for good reason, whether it was solely Intamins fault or not. Which I'm not buying.

You saying it was 'nothing more than an accident' is probably just as insulting to Kaitlyn and her family as fighting31irish saying 'aside from chopping legs off'. If you lost your foot, I doubt you'd be saying 'it's time to move on'. People will always mention it in passing. Because it's horrifying and somewhere a girl is still in pain. You'll get really exhausted if you try to combat it everytime someone brings it up when Kentucky Kingdom is mentioned. It is burned into everyone's brains. It is what it is.

As far as the press and media concerned, I think SeaWorld did in fact take a far greater beating over Dawn Brancheau's death. Just sayin'.

And it took Great Adventure years and years to recover from the deaths that have occurred in that park, many years ago.

Especially from the fire in the haunted maze incident...

Even Kings Island had major declines in attendance after the so-called Bloody Sunday, though many attributed those declines to the fact that Paramount did not sell alcohol for a time thereafter...

Don't say I was insulting her, I wasn't period. I see your points, and ALL of those points were already in my original post.

I will NEVER know what she went through and god I never ever want to. To this day I still feel sympathy for everyone involved with the accident. The employees, Six Flags, Intamin and Kaitlyn.

I had friends call me in tears after the accident, and that was something I NEVER want to experience again although it's nothing compared to experiencing it first hand.

I enjoy all the parks that I have went to. Not very many but a few.

Kings Island, Cedar Point, Disney, Indiana Beach, Park Asterix (France)

Out of the ones that I have been to I disliked Park Asterix the most. To many kiddy coasters and not enough big ones.

They had a few cool ones but that's it. Nothing like Kings Island or Cedar Point
