Another Sneak Peak: Flight Deck, Invertigo Signs

I got an idea about the Club Blood situation! Since the wall of the building can be taken down very cheaply and very fast, they should take the wall panals with the graffite and replace them with a new panal and then next year for hallowen haunt should use the same wall pieces with graffite and should just keep going in a cycle.

RCfreak339, and you know that taking wall panels on a building down can be done easily and cheaply how? I can guarantee you that it would be easier for the park to paint over the graffiti and had new graffiti painted in September then it would be to remove panels of the metal frame building and replace them with new panels.

Well heres a thought if they plan on using the same house for the next couple seasons it might take less time and effort to just do the metal panels then to go through painting it every season.

No. I can guarantee that painting is MUCH easier then taking a wall panels off a building and recladding it. Not to mention that in the process of removing the painted panels and reinstalling them, the graffiti would like suffer some scratches and chips, making the whole point of removing the panels null and void.

If you are planning on using it for a few seasons you could just cover it with a cover or tarp of some sort that matches the wall. Saving both time and money. That can be done to look pretty good some sort of fake paneling to just cover could work as well. Would you put it above Cedar Fair to just simply cover it with something like this Silver Tarp ?

Yes I agree with you but painting over the building then painting it over and over would most likley cost more money then just replacing them with the same panals in later years.

All that assumes that Halloween Haunt and Club Blood remain for the next several seasons and that graffiti covered buildings don't attract new and different graffiti each year (which they unfortunately do). I never understood the graffiti on Batman the Ride queues at Six Flags....the last thing one would want to see in a well maintained park is graffiti...why encourage it? Like yawns, the first piece of graffiti attracts more....

I understand that...and, more correctly, they DID the graffiti and junk to do that. Most of it has been removed at Six Flags Great Adventure, as one of the general managers there thought it made it look too much like what many thought the park itself looked like!

^So, they drew graffiti on the walls to add to the themeing, but when people started doing actual graffiti, they took it off.

No. Most of the graffiti and all the junk were removed from Batman: The Ride's queue in New Jersey because, as I said earlier, a previous general manager believed it did not positively contribute to the park's image and in fact caused other graffiti elsewhere in the park.

I'm happy with the new logos. While very similar to those found at Great America, which I don't find particularly attractive, our logos have backgrounds. That, I think, adds a lot to the looks of a sign. I hope our Drop Tower sign follows this trend; my mouth literally fell open when I saw the sign at GA, and I would be very dissapointed if the same treatment were given at KI.

Actually it cost the amount of the painted used. :P Figure it like this, would you rather them use the paint for touch-ups or painting a silly little building...Not to mention they have to pay the paint department to paint it. It may only take an hour to paint, but that is an hour that could be used somewhere else.

SFOG still has grafitti in Batman The Ride's queue. Im surprised they haven't tooken it down like SFGA did.

Ok ill be the man who gets this thread back on topic. I really do like the new signs. Invertigo's sign looks very very cool and i will give CF their props, when i first heard of Flight Deck i though wow this is going to be so dang ugly and then the sign actually looks pretty cool. I am assuming they are taking down all of the Top Gun posters and memorbilia. Man what i wold give to have one of those in my room.

I cannot imagine that Cedar Fair could have spent any less time or money creating the new "Kings Island Theater" sign. Disappointing.

Compare it to the old Paramount Theater sign:

It really has to make you wonder if Cedar Fair cares about anything other than ephemerally holding world records at Cedar Point.

You mean you wanted them to use Cheesy Stars and a Cheesy Medallion?

I think Cedar Fair is trying to restore some old rides, buildings, ect. I found a pic on a website (sorry forgot) of The Kings Island Theater when it first opened and the sign looked just like the new sign and is very origanal.

You mean you wanted them to use Cheesy Stars and a Cheesy Medallion?

No one could seriously suggest that Cedar Fair would leave the Paramount logo in place. However the new sign should have been something other than regular block lettering whose font hardly matches the rest of the theater's design. Why not include a Kings Island or Cedar Fair logo in some way?

If any thought or budget had gone into the project other than a reflexive "remove all the Paramount stuff" they would have taken the time to remove all of the Toyota logos, too.

Looks to me like they used Neon Lettering in the new sign.

If they were trying to get by cheaply they certainly would not have made them Neon.

Cedar Fair is Not, by any means, just saying, "Remove all things Paramount." If so, they wouldn't have given The Racer a new logo, the would have given the Bilboard sign a new design, ect. ect.

Personal story:

Yesterday was my friend's 29th birthday. We threw him a surprise party. The way we got him over to the house where the party was located was that lady who owned the house (his mom's friend) pleaded with him to come over and look at her car. He was annoyed beyond belief that she would expect him to go over there on his birthday. Of course, the mood all changed when he arrived and 100 of his closest friends and family were there.

Not unlike my friend, the vast majority of you find what Kings Island has been doing to be both wrong and out of place. However, everything done is simply a buildup to a much bigger picture. In his wildest dreams, he could not have imagined what was in store for him, and realistically, neither can you.

That Was deam...And Im going to have to agree with you. We are right now only seeing the small picture but coem two maybey three years time we will see the Big Picture
