What happened to the Season Pass Preview Days?

Featured Replies

What ever happened to the Season Pass Sneak Preview days, that the park used to have a few years ago. I know it could have been just a paramount thing. But there used to be a few weeks before the park opened to the public that you could get your season pass processed and then you could go in the park, season pass holders only. Those days made it nice because the season passholders that live farther away could get there pass early, and visit the park without waiting in that huge pass processing line.

There was usually only one such day each year. Sometimes, there was also a dry run day. These ended BEFORE Cedar Fair purchased Paramount Parks. Some parks, like Six Flags Great Adventure, continue to have both season pass holder days and dry run days. Others do not. I suspect it is a cost thing.

Once upon a time Cedar Point even had dry run days. It was usually contractors and their families, Families of employees, and invited guests. I attended one in 1989 as my dad poured the foundations for Magnum. Really was a DEAD day at the park. I can see why a lot of parks don't do them anymore. Practically everyone in the gates is there for free, or real cheap, but they still have to pay all the employees.

But, if they have problems with anything, the invited guests (who did NOT pay to get in) are the guinea pigs, not guests who have paid for a full experience and have a right to expect a full experience.

It should be noted that Canada`s Wonderland is in fact having a season pass holder only day this year. The season pass preview day is on Friday April 25th from 5-10pm. That is the first day pass holders can experience Behemoth. The park officially opens to the public on Saturday, May 4th.

And, I presume, those with Cedar Fair Platinum Passes from American CF parks are welcome....

Why do you assume that?

It was a question, not a presumption....thus the ...

Given all the differing interpretations of the Platinum Pass benefits over the off season, I highly doubt we will see uniform administration of the program this summer. I still think Cedar Fair has some administrative issues with admissions and the seasons pass program (as Mr. Kinzel keeps calling it).

Well we know for certain that the company is concentrating on Price Integrity and Nostalgia.

I think that Kings Island should bring this back it sounds like it would be a good time for people who have had about enough of Kings Island denial in their life. Hmmmm that sounds a lot like us.

I would love for them to bring this back, but it doesnt seem realistic in the near future, because all Kings Island has been doing in the last couple years has been taking away perks, I would be very surprised if they decided to add a perk as big as this back. But i can dream :)
