Cheesecake Factory pulls out of Downtown Disney

Perhaps.

I do know that the whole Disney Quest idea never took off the way is was imagined to.

I'm sure we can thank all of the recent advanced technology of home gaming systems for that one.

While I did enjoy DQ, I'm sure the cost of constantly re-inventing itself is more than they could bring in.

Really not that surprising. Cheese Cake Factory Express does not really match the rest of the restaurant's image.

I'm venturing that they probably would like to be thought of as a middle to upper style of dining as opposed to a grab it quick type restaurant.

Actually, it may have more to do with the fact that Cheesecake Factory is falling on hard financial times. There was a recent article on AOL news that mentioned the names of some pretty big name merchants that may start to dissapear soon.

Cheesecake Factory, Chili's, Old Navy were three of the big names mentioned in the article. They cited a downturn in the economy, and much too rapid expansion as the reasons.

I think that those businesses may see a slow down in expansion and even closing some locations, but I really don't think there is a chance that you'll see any of those three close soon.

Now Applebee's may be a different matter; as they are playing catch up with Chili's and Ruby Tuesday's.

in fact Applebees is now owned by ihop' ???so they are set:

I see old navy downsizing making stores smaller, and also on retail front kmart closing:::

and either sears or penneys and if its sears they'll go to appliance/tools only:

When my sisters were younger they were more into Disney Channel than Nickelodeon and cartoon network and I had to watch them every day they got home from school. I vividly remember the promotions they did on the Disney Channel for the Disney Quest thing and thinking how uninteresting looked and how the graphics on the home computer were so much better.

It's funny how fast technology moves, there used to be a point where people compared recent advances to thirty years ago. Today kids are comparing video game systems in 2008 to the "outdated" systems of the early 2000's.
