Certain International Street Song

Featured Replies

Alright I'm trying to find the artist and title of a certain song that used to be played on International Street during the Paramount days. It was all instrumental and had alot of saxaphone in it. Any help out there?

Saxophone? Was it more of a pop-sounding track, or was it more symphony-like. I'm thinking Love Theme from China Town by Jerry Goldsmith? But that sounded more trumpety than saxophone...

I would Google the keywords "amazon jerry goldsmith", and check the "listen to samples", especially if they have the soundtrack to "Chinatown". If you see "Love Theme from Chinatown" in the list, click to listen. I think that might be your song. It was kind of slow and jazzy, and had a high-octave piano, then some beautiful string flourishes toward the end. Played really well with the fountains.

My turn :) Does anyone know what song had the real flute-heavy, kind of action-thriller sound. I thought it was from Mission:Impossible (not the main theme), or maybe from TR. I don't know, but it was really cool-sounding, and played I think right before "Breakfast Machine" by Danny Elfman. Any guesses? I'd really love to know!

Well, do they still play all the soundtracks in the communications center? If so I'm betting that someone that works over there could give ya a hint.

Here's several great instrumental songs that I remember from the PKI days of International Street:

Dave Grusin & London Symphony Orchestra: Cinemagic

"An Actor's Life"

"Fratelli Chase"

"Heaven Can Wait"

"New Hampshire Hornpipe"

"Mountain Dance (on the album Smooth Jazz - The Originals, Vol. 1)"

David Foster: "Love Theme from "St. Elmo's Fire" (Instrumental)"

They're on iTunes, so feel free to sample the for what you're looking for.

I had the same situation, after hearing a new age-type of song at Cedar Point several years ago. I finally found out what it was a year or two ago... "Hideaway" by Russ Freeman & the Rippingtons, just by asking CP staff in an email.

Virtually the entire soundtrack from International Street's Paramount days plays near Batman: The Ride at Six Flags Great Adventure. In prior years, it played until noon at the entrance plaza, after which they changed to pop standards not unlike those Cedar Fair now plays at Kings Island's entrance plaza.
