Great America Owner's Demands (Stadium Related)

GREAT AMERICA OWNER'S DEMANDS

Before the 49ers could build a stadium in the parking lot of the Great America amusement park, park owner Cedar Fair says the team would have to meet demands outlined in a letter Friday: Control of scheduling stadium events during Great America's season: The park opens in late March and closes in October but is considering extending its season.

Compensation for lost revenue during 49ers games: The park would close during the four games that conflict with its season.

Manage parking and keep revenue for all stadium events: The stadium and much of its parking would be on city-owned land leased by Cedar Fair.

No name change for Great America Parkway: The major road that runs to the park from Highway 101 must keep its name.

Perhaps. Perhaps not...

Note the newspaper didn't even bother calling the place California's Great America, and that is the local paper to boot!

I do not flip-flop...I interpret. Read carefully...I often post things quite clearly if the reader beholds...but sometimes not! :)

Also know that just because I post an article does not necessarily mean I agree with it.

Have a great day and enjoy!

Yep, it has kerried a lot of people a long way, but let's not gore the pun man too much, nor beat around the bush....

Terpy, who remembers when all the thrills were Paramount

"Flip-flop" man that term really stuck from the 04 election didn't it? :)

Yeah, and as most things political, has little to do with actual decisions and interpretations.

Sad that when things are discussed and conclusions are reached that one or another can be labeled as "flip-flopping."

So easy to toss meaningless terms out and attempt to smear an opponent.

Ahhhh... I digress. But then it is election season .... Over The Next Year.

If I was running for office I'm pretty sure I would be labeled a flip-flopper. But that's more so because I put out my thoughts... listen to responses... and then there's times I may alter my previous view. I don't think it's a bad thing but a lot of people in the media like to think it means they don't know what they want when in fact it's more they don't know what everyone else wants. Awww yes it is election season once again... time to hit some rallies and maybe some protests along the way. I am sure there will be many many more discussions in coming months on this. I will always welcome a good and clean debate.

That’s another reason why I love KIC, A place where I can go without a political slant put on threads. The admin’s do great job keeping politics away from KIC.

One could say KIC is what it is but that would depend on what the definition of what is, is.

It's not the media that reports such as being bad.

It's the political party/parties that utilize it and it's then reported on.

Anyone with common sense would understand that what you do is not only normal, it is prudent.

But then common sense is not really common.

Yep. It was legendary architect Frank Lloyd Wright who said "There is nothing more uncommon than common sense."

On the subject at hand, I`m sure Cedar Fair is concerned what will happen with this proposed stadium because it could significantly affect California`s Great America, from both an operational as well as an economic point of view. The fact that Cedar Fair is not the owner of the land the park sits on further compound`s Cedar Fair`s valid concerns.
