Arrived at the park with kids in tow at around 5:30. Headed to Nick and rode Fairly Coaster. Five minute wait and the crew was great. On to The Beast where there was a 30 minute wait- no fault to the crew, they were hustling and courteous. My new favorite section of the ride experience on The Beast is just after the second tunnel to the bottom of the climb to the double helix.

On to The Vortex where we walked on almost immediately. Crew seemed tired but no legit complaints.

Moved on to the front seat of the foreword Racer. Crew was better than usual (the supervisor on duty is one I always notice as keeping things moving and professional) though I noticed the backwards side had a few crew members I usually observe as being less than professional. Stayed on and rode in the back seat at my son's request(ouch).

Went to SOB and they were only running the red train. The line was long and we opted to pass this time.

Since I was with children we frequented the restrooms and they were clean each visit and more often than not there was an employee inside keeping things clean.

The only thing that bugged me (and this has been mentioned on these boards before) was the numbers of people smoking in non-designated smoking areas.

Beautiful weather and a pleasant trip for sure.

Unfortunately in a wide open area like KI you will have those that do not know about the park being non-smoking and then those who just ignore the policy.

Glad to hear you had a good day though.

I believe Kings Island needs to be more like Holiday world in conveying the no smoking policy. At Holiday World there are signs everywhere hanging from lamp posts and such saying "Holiday World, Now Smoke-Free!." In addition, though there are less smoking areas, the smoking areas they do have are large patios with tables and umbrellas and benches etc. not just small corners of the different areas where it was convienient to put a smoking box. I can think of at least one place per area at KI where they could have made a large smoking area type patio that didnt require smokers to stand within a 10 foot circle.

KI has added a few signs stating that smoking is only permitted in designated area's only. They are a few at the metal detectors, I saw one on the Action Zone Restroom by SOB, and one over in Coney on the old snack bar next to speed pitch. They may be more, but I only seen those so far.
