Does anyone know which rides will not allow someone to ride with a cast on their arm? I checked the Kings Island website but it only says some of the rides and most of the BB water slides. It does not list them, it only says to check the signs posted at the ride. I know Drop Zone says you can't ride but that is the only one that I can think of off the top of my head.

Yeah, I know Drop Zone is closed now, but it might not be in 3 weeks when we are planning on going!

Pretty sure she wouldn't want to ride that even if she weren't in a cast.

I thought it was guys who had problems with that ride! I know I certainly did when I rode it yesterday!

My brother's friend when he went to Cedar Point and when we went to Kings Island with a cast on...he didn't have problems riding the rides...just didn't do the water rides.

From past personal experience I can tell you that you won't be able to ride King Cobra with a cast!

More correctly, Kings Island does not assume responsibility for any damage that the rides may do to your broken appendages. Of course, a court of law or Cedar Fair's insurance company may decide differently. . .

So what I am getting out of this is:

A. I shouldn't ride TR:TR because I am a girl

B. I can't ride King Cobra because 1. I am in a cast and 2. because it is not there any longer

and

C. Cedar Fair may or may not be responsible if I injure myself because I have a broken bone.

I think I will chance it and read the signs before I get into line!

My daughter borke her arm a week after we bought our season passes one year. She rode just about everything without any problems including WWC, CF, and the lof flume. She was lucky enough to have a waterproof cast. She said she felt like her cast was gonna come off on The Racer but other than that she had no complaints.

Unfortunately they do not make waterproof casts anymore. That was my first question to the doctor and I guess that the waterproof casts were causing so many skin problems, that they discontinued making them.

My son broke his arm a few years ago and he had a waterproof one and we were trying to remember which rides he was able to ride and which ones he was not. The only ones that we could remember was Drop Zone because it was one of his favorite rides. He was heartbroken when he couldn't ride. The other ride was SOB because it was his first time riding it and he was worried that he was going to knock himself out going down the first hill.

This year my other son broke his arm and he wont be so lucky. We are leaving for the beach next weekend and should have been stopping at Carowinds on the way down. Carowinds is now out of the picture and we are trying to come up with something for the beach so he can at least enjoy part of our vacation.

Yeah, I wondered about that statement, too. As I type this, I have two friends who currently have waterproof casts. One gets hers off tomorrow.

I have one simple solution for you! Take trashbag, or old poncho, or even Krogers bags and wrap the material of your choosing over the cast from about 2-3 inches above the cast on the arm down and around the fingers...you can choose to just wrap the material around the exposed cast on your palm or put a latex doctors glove over your hand so that you can use your fingers. Use tape of your choosing and wrap that around the material every 2-4 inches to make sure that it stays in place!

When I broke my arm, I did not have a waterproof cast 8 years ago, instead just used the aforementioned method, and was able to swim as well as do anything else that had water! Also, I have seen many walking around the park with this! Hope that helps! You should then beable to have a fairly care free day at the park!

I was with Coastergirl at Columbus' Nationwide Children’s Hospital, When the Ortho doc told us that they no longer use waterproof casts due to the fact that there is an extremely high number of patients being treated by orthopedic and then immediately following up with derm-specialist because of the bacterial infection. The gortex does not work the way they originally thought, it traps the water instead of letting the skin breathe.
