  1. I wonder if there was some sort of special deal going on yesterday too. We usually go on Wednesday because it's not crowded but yesterday was the most crowded we have experienced it all season. We waited over an hour to ride The Beast ate ice cream and left because it was so packed. Before getting our passes this year, I hadn't been to KI since I worked there as a teenager in like 1993 or so, so maybe I'm just out of touch with what normal mid-week volume is in the middle of summer though.

That location is now the home of the Reds Hall of Fame Grille. It was extensively remodeled and upgraded to a full service restaurant in 2013. Thanks! I'm a little slow... didn't realize the original post about it was from 2010.

Where is Rivertown Junction located exactly? I can't remember having seen it before and it's not located on the Dining page of the KI website.
  4. As I have noted previously in another thread, I recently had my bag stolen and the four members of Security that I dealt with were super nice and helpful and were very apologetic that it happened. They went out of their way to help me and I was very impressed. You really shouldn't judge them all poorly by your interaction with one.
  5. I am so sorry happened. It's a bear to replace the stolen cards, I know. The Security are truly sympathetic, aren't they? I might recommend getting back to the park, even if it's just a few hours, to get over the shakes of being robbed. It sounds strange but helps. Thanks... Security actually looked up my banks phone # and let me call them while we were filling out the report so I could cancel the card and see if anyone tried using it in the park. Thankfully no charges were made and my new card will be here in in 2 days, so it wasn't too much of an ordeal. We actually went back into the park after I got my phone and rode a few rides while waiting on my spare key to show up.
  6. Stuff like this is why it is just so foolish to not prepare for your trip to the park. I NEVER, EVER, leave anything in storage, and, guess what? I've never had anything stolen. Even when we go to Soak City, I bring by worst flip flops, and the crappiest towels we own. My DL, cash/card stays in my pocket at all times, along with my car keys. Sorry that you lost your stuff, but, please, learn your lesson. Carry only what fits in your pockets, or, rent a locker. Just too easy for the worst elements in our society to take more "free stuff"... For the record, I am completely paranoid about things falling out of my pockets which is why I leave my phone in the car and why I specifically bought a small wrist purse just big enough for money and keys so I can keep it on my wrist even when riding. The one and only time it came off my body yesterday was on WWC and I did so because I didn't want my key to get wet. I agree that was bad judgement on my part and I'm not asking for anyone to feel bad for me. The whole point of my post was to say something POSITIVE about the people who helped me. I was just trying to say something nice.... I don't need a lecture. Thanks though.
  7. My daughter and I were at KI yesterday and while we were riding White Water Canyon, my bag was stolen from the storage shelves. Lost my cash, my driver's liceanse, my debit card, our gold passes and my car key, so I was stranded there with no money, no phone (it was locked in my car), and no way home. I just wanted to put it out here that I dealt with 4 different people from Security and they were all wonderful. They sent someone to walk us back to the security office, they took a report, walked us through also filing a report with Lost & Found and through getting our Gold Passes reissued. Then they sent someone to our car to wait with us until someone could come with tools to get my car unlocked so I could get my phone out and call someone to go to my house and get my spare key and bring it to me. I don't have much hope for getting my stuff back, but everyone I dealt with went out of their way to be nice and polite and they repeatedly apologized that it happened. It made me feel better at least.
  8. I didn't ride it yesteterday because of the long line (weirdly busy for a Wednesday), but I was walking on the path right behind BLSC yesterday and clearly saw the fire. We actually stopped and watched it flare up 3 or 4 times.
  9. Lol... right but he wasn't a REAL hippie. He was the shiny rich suburb kid version of a hippie. His whole get up was most definately bought at the mall.
  10. My 6 year old and I were standing in a rather long line for Drop Tower on Thursday evening and there was a guy in line right behind us who was trying really really hard to look like a hippie in the midst of his seemingly normal looking friends. That's all fine and good... look however you want, but you do not have to take a bath in patchouli to get your point across! It was slightly tolerable when I was up wind of him and tried not to breath too deeply but when the line turned so that I was downwind when the big whoosh of air came, it was like instant migraine every time... I felt like my face was going to fall off as my sinus's instantly clogged up. Even my daughter whispered to me asking why that weird man smelled so bad and could I please sit next to him on the ride so she wouldn't have to smell him. Too much perfume is way worse than BO in my book! People should have some consideration, especially knowing how close they are going to be to other people in the lines.
  11. My kid has really sensitive skin and the wristbands make her itch and break out in hives when she starts to sweat. It's so unpleasant that she freaks out and rips them off as soon as they make her put one on any more. I don't think she should be forced to wear one, but I do think that holding up a ride to measure a kid for the 3rd time is stupid. My daughter is 50 inches tall but has been made to get out of her seat on two different occasions to be remeasured when 1) she is clearly tall enough for what she was riding and 2) was already measured twice in line previously. What's the point of measuring them at both the back of the line and again at the front of the line and then making them do it a third time? It seems to me the assumption would be that by the time they are in the seat they have been thoroughly height checked and ready to go.
  12. Hmmm... not sure I'm up for 3 hours non-stop in the pool. Fingers crossed for rain so I'm off the hook!
  13. If the movie is expected to start at 9:20pm, anyone have ay idea exactly how early you should be there for a guaranteed spot in the pool? My daughter has been talking about this non-stop for weeks since they gave us the flyer while parking and if she doesn't get to watch Frozen (for the thousandth time) from inside the pool she will be crushed.
