I knew I should've parked my Delorean in the garage last night.

Well, Flying Eagles return. Not the same model, and not the same theme but hey. Not bad.

Flying Ace Aerial Chase Height Max?
Ah, I barely squished into Drop Tower. Sounds like I can make it work though. Might give it a shot. Thanks.

Flying Ace Aerial Chase Height Max?
Does anyone know if there is a maximum height on this ride? I am 6'3" and I've been thinking about trying this ride, but I worry that I am simply too tall to ride. In lieu of embarrassment, I chicken out trying it when I'm in the park. I tried The Bat at Lagoon (in Utah) back in 2010 and I fit just fine, and they are similar rides. Any help would be appreciated.

Kings Island Inn & Conference Center closing soon?
I always stay at the La Quinta in Mason since I live a few hours away. 10 minute or so drive from the park, good rates, and it's always been decently clean. I've looked into this hotel because it has cheap rates and a much closer location, but the reviews have kept me away.

Vortex to be retired soon?
Close proximity? Viking Fury and Vortex are in close-proximity?

Vortex to be retired soon?
Wood is much easier to be replaced than steel. If a wood coaster is popular enough, it can be renewed so long as there are trees. You can replace small sections of the track at a time very cheaply. With a steel coaster, I don't imagine there's much option outside of manufacturing steel for the entire ride. That's quite a lot more expensive.

Vortex to be retired soon?
I will say it is odd to have terpy bump both the Viking Fury and Vortex "leaving" threads after months of inactivity. Perhaps he knows something that we don't, preparing us for the inevitable retirement of these rides. Perhaps it's a hint that a different attraction could be saying goodbye. Perhaps there was no goal beyond the posting. It's still an interesting look back. If Vortex is to go soon, I apologize for riding it and enjoying it only just recently. You know the story of how that goes.

For those Geauga Lake fans
Pretty sure it's been just named "Wildwater Kingdom" for years now.

Vortex to be retired soon?
Son of Beast's demolition was still fresh on the mind, so it probably didn't feel that far fetched to say they'd take another one down. Not to say it'd ever be far fetched.

Odd Issue With Vortex
I had the same this past Sunday. I was waiting for WindSeeker to get going, and listening to Vortex's lift made me excited to ride it. I had never ridden it before this year, and now I will likely never go to the park without trying to ride it. Normally I ride The Beast or Diamondback a few times per visit, but this time Vortex was the only ride to be ridden twice. Before my second ride on Sunday, I had just gotten off an awful ride on The Racer (I was in an uncomfortable position and jammed the lap bar down too far), and I looked down the mall and Vortex just looked really fun to me. I had never experienced that before. The last few times I had been to the park, I felt like I rode Vortex because I should. Something clicked this last Sunday. I love riding Vortex now.

Why No Bat Merchandise ?
I bought a Bat mug yesterday. Without the sign and regular entrance path, there's probably quite a lot of people who don't know The Bat is there or open this time of year. I rode it yesterday and as I passed the Son of Beast station up the ramp on my way back out, I had a woman ask me what ride was back there. I told her The Bat and to go ride it. I think she was going to.

PTR 09/28/14
Back to Kings Island for one last time for the year. Used my free Fast Lane pass for renewing, and had a great time. Photos taken with my iPhone 5S. Arrived very early, allowing me to snap a quick picture of the entrance. As the time crept closer to 10:30, they all began to come out and prepare the ticket booths. First stop was Banshee, with the ERT. I rode it twice, but stopped before I had the chance to feel sick. Don't tell anyone I took this from Drop Tower. Speaking of Drop Tower, I had never ridden it so it was next: Very fun, forceful and exciting ride. It was quite a bit more fun than I expected. At that point, ERT was over and I made it over to The Bat. I think this photo encompasses how busy most of the rides were today. Decided to switch over to Coney Maul and check out some of the shops. There were a few good hauls to be had. Skipping The Racer and FOF, I decided it was time to have my second ever ride on Firehawk. I did not like it as much as the first. Huh. One that did not disappoint however: Vortex seems to get better every time I give it a ride. I gave it and WindSeeker a whirl and was rather impressed by both today. Backlot Stunt was next, and it had maybe the longest line of the day. Looked to be around 15 minutes or so. I got right on with my FLP and enjoyed it. The fire effects were working today, when they weren't the last time I rode it. The Beast taunted me to ride, but I was hungry so we stopped and had a small bite to eat at La Rosa's. It was fine. Not fine, was The Beast. It was great! I swear it's been faster this year. That first helix after the second lift hill is outstanding. I waited maybe 5 minutes for the front row, and it may have been the best ride I had on it all season. A trip to Rivertown just can't happen without Diamondback, and it was running just fine. I rode near the back and it seemed to float more than normal. Good stuff. BLUE ICE CREAM and Boo Blasters was next. Ice Cream was good, but the blasters were still not working great on the Boo Blasters. Oh well. Made our way back to Coney Maul, adding a ride on The Racer to the list. It appeared the red train was being held up by angry guests who lost an item on the ride. I jammed the lap bar down too hard and had an uncomfortable ride this time. Whoops. I made up for it with another ride on Vortex. Something is missing here. Let's investigate from the other side. Hmmm. Well. I don't know. Hopefully SR&R is back next year. Making our way back to the entrance, I realized I had never actually stopped to look at the Grand Carousel: It was beautiful to say the least. And I bet it's better at night. I found a great spot to get a photo of the Eiffel Tower: But then I realized the REAL reason they tore down Son of Beast: and I realized it was time to go home.

Yeah crowds aren't much today. Longest line I saw was for Backlot Stunt Coaster. Maybe Beast.

Does anyone know if the park will be doing ERT tomorrow, or is that just a summertime thing?

Current wait times
You still get priority into the station over the regular line so still probably better.

Squished just enough so you can't stand up anymore. Also "Mantis" is squashed and gone. Rouagrou is here and new.

Busch Gardens does away with severed head display
It's important for parks to always be achieving a balance between horror and taste. And yes, world events need to be taken into account. Like this season, parks all over the world should be more sensitive to beheading displays. It's a measure of good taste and sensitivity. I get that it's a Halloween display but they're supposed to take you out of the horrors of the real world, not remind you of them.
