  1. I'm picturing an RMC with Blue and Green track that pays tribute to the trains and it being called the General. This is not a likely thing to happen but I think it would be cool to theme it to the KI&MVRR
  2. So this snap can be a nod towards peoples suspicion of this ride being a R(ocky)MC
  3. Do you mean ...Balboa or ...Horror Picture Show? Because I'm actually not that familiar with either.
  4. I attempted to view the fireworks from the bottom set of queue in The Beast and was watching the show happily for about 5 minutes when a ride op came up to me and asked if I was watching the fireworks I told him I was and he told me to carry on A few minutes later though a security guard came up to me and told me that I wasn't allowed down there. Keep in mind I wasn't standing in a lockout area. I was situated firmly in queue.
  5. I'm just wondering if this is in fact a wooden coaster and it is built into the woods similar to Beast, I hope I won't have to make a change to my tradition of getting the Last ride of the night on The Beast.
  6. I think they had a soft opening of the show today. I walked past it in the early evening and it looked to be formidably filled with guests. Either that or a public technical rehearsal
  7. A certain employee at the park who was in a disagreement with me, "it's a giga, Don confirmed it..." Okay
  8. Yeah Ohiocolts and I saw it. I was by one of the food truck stands when it broke out near me.
  9. I will have to say the most thrilling part of the entire body slide experience is the wait for the trap door to fall out from under you. Once it dropped you, i didn't get the sinking feeling in my stomach like I expected. I did notice that I was unable to keep my feet crossed when I dropped from both slides, I'm assuming because of impulse. Overall though it was enjoyable. I really liked the tube slides.
  10. On Friday the lines where about 30 minutes for each of the big coasters like Rougarou, Maverick, TTD, and MF but during night ERT every ride that was open was a walk on. The only exception was Valravn which was only an 8 minute wait.
  11. (Gee), (See) (I) cant understand why Intamin keeps being brought up.
  12. If its in a parking lot I would think. Does it mention how long to clear a forest? "Survey: A week or two of surveying the lay of the land and plotting out where the foundations will go. Foundations: two to four months of digging and pouring the foundations, after which they must set to cure for a period of time." source: Coasters 101: An Engineer's Guide to Roller Coaster Design
  13. Here is an excerpt from the book I am currently reading that gives some insight: "Designing an entirely new coaster concept may take as long as three to four years while a medium-sized wooden may be designed in as few as nine months." the book goes on to give a timeline of a coaster installation, and through out, it details a wooden coaster taking significantly less time overall to install. source: Coasters 101: An Engineer's Guide to Roller Coaster Design
  14. Screamscape posted a link with a video about the 2017 teaser. The site seems to think that a giga is a likely contestant. While I know Screamscape is a rumor hub of sorts and their sources can be unreliable at times, the site has predicted certain things correctly before. Most recently, I remember back in early February they predicted that Lightning Rod would not open in time.
  15. Yesterday I had my first 'lights on' ride on FoF and let me say that it's been a highlight of this season for sure.. It's a very unique experience and truly amazing. Anyways, as I was riding I looked around close to the ground to see what was stored in the ride building. This is what I saw: 1. Curved tubes (assuming coaster railing.) 2. A pair of seats from the Crypt 3. A thing of green and black seats. These seats I did not recognize and they were in the center of the building. They didn't Resemble a type of seat on any of the coasters at KI so far, so maybe they are from the old go karts?
  16. I feel you are more accurate about it being taken from the new WWC entrance, possibly a little bit in front of the train track.
  17. I don't remember which thread I saw it mentioned but it was said that in the back of the park with a bunch of old atraction items, you could see Patrick Star (from Nickelodeon Universe). When I was on WindSeeker on Sunday, I did in fact spot Patrick and also a couple of red trains which I assume are from SOB.
  18. Yeah this speed would result in at least a mild concussion.
  19. I would say that adding a small amount of queues will make the whole process go smoother. If they don't add new queues to food lines, the least they should do is enforce the ones that already exist. For example, last season I was at Chicken Shack and the line went beyond the entrance awning/roof. I waited in line in the hot sun and when I finally reached shade, I saw that the queues inside the building where roped off and guests where just going forward and ordering. This will not necessarily fix the speed of service, but it will definitely make the process of purchasing meals better organized.
  20. I would suggest you wait to see if you receive an email that invites you to the event. Last year I received an email saying "You're invited..." If you fail to receive an invite and still feel your eligible, you should call the park before you go!
  21. I am going to be attending Coastermania! I really feel like the cruise is going to be an excellent element of the day. Also, considering Maverick is my favorite coaster, nothing sounds better than hours of ERT on it.
  22. I feel like there are going to be more cars at any given moment with a pass versus paying with money for parking, which makes me wonder, will pass holders only be allowed to go in their respective designated lanes?
  23. Last year...went to Carowinds the first weekend in April to ride Fury 325 and lost my pass. Got a replacement at Kings Island a couple of weeks later. Because I used it at Carowinds before KI, even though purchased from KI, it switched my home park down to Carowinds. Took a couple of minutes for them to get it straightened out. Has this happened to anyone else? See my previous post in this thread.
  24. I renewed my 2014 Goldpass to a 2015 Platinum pass last year and went to Carrowinds during spring break. Since I had a KI Goldpass they had to give me a Carrowinds Platinum pass. Keep in mind that I specifically renewed through KI as my home park. When I got to preview day last year the lady at guest services almost denied me entrance because she said Carowinds changed themselves over tomy home park. I had to do a lot of pleading, and show my confirmation number to emphasize that I was eligible for the event, before she let me in. Just be wary, they have very specific requirements.
  25. I'm putting in all my marbles, hoping that LR open for Thrills in the Hills. Dollywood recently changed the itenirary making the evening ERT on LR. And in RMC's recent announcement they said that the opening of the ride is ultimately decided by the customer (Dollywood) so I'm hoping these signs point to its opening by April 8. One can only hope...
