KI Haunt Review 9/26/15
Exactly, think it'd be pretty easy to pull off, dones't have to be anything major, just some good ghost story narration ro something with some simple decorations would be good enough

Disney World updates
YEa I've had a few friends that have lived or worked down there. And all said it loses some of the magic but I think overall it still retains it more than a regional park. They are much more innovative rides and fully immersive. You can really have a great time just walking around and more shows and great fireworks to catch. But yea it isn't nearly the same as when you visit every couple years or so.

Fright feast question
Cant' say for sure this year but last year yes you got the Skeleton Key room as well. It was basically a single use Fright Lane ticket. So if you went to a maze with a Skeleton Key room you got to experience it as well. Making it hard for me to decide which to use it on this year. Money is tight so we are forgoing Fright Lane passes but doing the Fright Feast. Feel liek Blackout will have biggest line, but loved Slaughterhouse's Skeleton Key room and the new one for Urgent Scare sounds cool too.

Haunt 2015
That is awesome. Really helps set the mood just walking into the park.

Fright Feast $5 w/ All Season Dining Plan
Planning to do it this year when i go in a couple weeks. We ate at it last year and sounds like it is the same stuff. The food was good and a good value I felt with the season pass at $12 for good buffet, drinks, and front of line pass. To Ffej, not sure if there year is different yet but last year there were no scare actors and minimal decorations. Just some hay bales and pumpkins pretty much. However I'd definitely recommend. It's cheaper than most meals around the park, great food, all you can eat, and the line pass. Just $12 with a season pass versus $15 for a mediocre meal and drink elsewhere in the park. Not sure about dietary needs like veggie burgers though, I'd recommend calling the park to ask about that unless someone here knows for sure.

KI Haunt Review 9/26/15
RingMaster, I agree with you about moving Tombstone Terror-tory into a scare zone through Rivertown. That would be a much better use for it, and could leave the train open as well then for a relaxing evening ride.

KI Haunt Review 9/26/15
I agree with the quality statements a bit. Haunt is till a lot of fun and I love it but some of the mazes are lacking severely or getting very dated and tired. And renaming a maze with a very minimal theme change does not make it new (e.g. Massacre Manor to DDD or the many chainlink fence mazes where BTD now stands). A big part to me comes down a bit to layouts for some, like Tombstone Terror-tory hard to be scary in a straight line with obvious hiding spots, and number of actors, Cornstalkers has always been woefully understaffed when I've gone through. I do like that we get so many mazes to experience and helps to spread the crowds out some but I'd almost rather them cut down the number of mazes and make them better staffed and themed. Can pool decorations together and have funds dispersed better plus more scare actors per maze. One examble would be taking three of their weakest mazes, Tombstone Terror-tory, Wolf Pack, and Cornstalkers, and combining them into one big haunt. Could start in a farm house that has been attacked and then venture out into the cornfields. I feel the props and costumes for these three could work together into a cohesive haunt with the Western garb able to be refitted as lost souls on the farm and having werewolves and scarecrows attacking. I also like Forsaken's idea of making Carn-evil into a dark/gritty circus theme that is scarier than a bright 3D haunt. It's decent as is but coudl be really creepy if made more realistic. I think if we just had like 8 or 9 mazes the quality could be improved.

Dark Ride at Kings Island
That pic looks like it'd be an awesome ride in there Thrill_Biscuit. Is that supposed to be something like Soarin' at Disney? that could be a perfect attraction in there. Be a more unique flat ride and could theme it to whatever they want, update it over years or do a special Halloween one for Haunt. Plus something like that would hold a decent capacity.

Dark Ride at Kings Island
I'd like a good classic family dark ride in the current dark ride's building. Kind of hoping with the new Peanuts movie coming out it will raise popularity and they will eventually just switch it into a Peanuts ride. with the look of the characters and things I think you could do a Peanuts dark ride cheap and have it still look good too. Don't care if it's a shooter or not but would prefer at least one dark ride in the park that isn't. Would like to see a new one though go into the Action Theatre building. I think it would be better for it as there is a larger base floor space whereas the Crypt building would need multiple levels. Ideally would love something like Curse of DarKastle but would settle for something like Voyage to the Iron Reef even. Then in the Crypt's building put in a new flat ride or roller coaster (Eurofighter most like to do tight turns and sudden drops, something like Mystery Mine at Dollywood) themed to a mine/mine shaft. IF it was a coaster it could even duck in and out of the building some. I do agree with KI Guy that the building is a bit of an eye sore but if the ride was themed to mine or something the entrance already has a bit of a mine look and the building proper could be painted or fitted to look like a wooden mining building or something.

Phantom Theater vs The Haunted Mansion and possible idea for sequel to the Phantom Theater
Agree with the location I think a classic Peanuts themed dark ride would be better there as it is bascially inside Planet Snoopy. A new one coudl work in either Crypt's building or Action Theatre. A ride like Curse of Darkastle would be great for it, but I'd settle for a classic ride liek the original. Just hopefully it wound't be a shooter, rather have a good story and effects than just targets. Also instead of anything with "return" or "revenge" in the title think to keep with the theme of a theatre and the Maestro should be something with "Encore", like Phantom's Encore or Phantom Theatre: Encore.

A Terpy Poll?
Mine is probably The Beast. It's one of the few that I ride multiple times on each visit, unless I just don't have time. Others would be Banshee and Diamondback but as they are much newer haven't had as many visits with them. Adventure Express I've always loved so it would probably have my second most rides as well. usually a short quick line so can get a reride easily.

Things to expect in the future
I think they'd improve a giga experience a little more, just as B&M did from Leviathan to Fury 325.. but if its on par with one of them, I dearly hope we dont end up with that floating final brake run... looks soo tacky. I don't know that Kings Island really needs a wing coaster anyways. If you want one there's one 3 and 4 and 5 and another one 5 hours away. Until wing coasters became staples at parks, which I wouldnt expect.. Though the only one I've found to be done well enough for me to love is Thunderbird. It manuevers in a more exciting way. Wasn't there talk of Six Flags possibily having bought a contract of exclusivity with RMC in the US? Or at least recently? I'll regurgitate this opinion.. but I'd love a Mack LSM launched ride... particularly around the heniously outdated, dinosaurs area... not sure if it was intended irony or not.. Well Thunderbird is all I've been on and loved it so maybe a bit biased towards it. But yea I know there are a lot of options but be nice to have one at my home park I go to the most. But I would be happy with any coaster addition really. Though I personally feel we need some more flats than coasters right now. As far as exclusivity between Six Flags and RMC, I don't think that's true. 2 of their installations for next year aren't Six parks anyway as they are working at KK and Dollywood.

Cedar Point 2016 Talk
Just want to clarify, I'm not saying Dragster is a bad ride or anything, just saying that if you are judging a ride solely on its length and layout it's not really fair. The experience of the ride itself overall is what determines its quailty. I haven't gotten to ride Dragster myself yet though so can't fully judge how good it is, both times i've been since it opened the ride has been shut down due to issues with the ride. But I know it gets good reviews. I can see some people's underwhelming interest in a dive coaster as I have always thought that they look quite short as well, but they look very fun at the same time. And with the heigt of this one it will be like having a Drop Tower type experience with a short coaster ride after that still looks fun, if quick. My one qualm I have with it is I wish they dug a tunnel down and had it go underground on the drop to swoop back out in the immelman, think that would give it an even better experience as you jsut see the ground coming at you instead of jsut the track ahead. Perhaps even have the pathway closer to the drop and have it actually dive under the path and come up ont he other side to then swoop back around to the mcbr as it does.

Things to expect in the future
Yea Banshee as an invert filled a gap more than a Giga would have. A giga would be very welcome in the park, but as it would be somewhat similar to Diamondback, something like Banshee was needed first. And Diamondback as a hyper and not a giga isn't much sign of unwillingness. You could say the same thing of Behemoth and Intimidator which were both only built as hypers but could easily have been gigas, and both Canada's Wonderland and Carowinds went on to get a giga as well. I think a giga is likely as well as a Triotech dark ride. Would be great to see an RMC go in as well but as Cedar Fair hasn't built one yet not sure about it happening soon. Possible but not as likely as the other two. Would love to see a wing coaster as well but again think a giga is more likely.

Cedar Point 2016 Talk
Can't judge it solely based on the layout, the experience can be very different. Even using one of your examples with Dragster, that ride just goes right up then back down and that is all. Valravn is doing much more and a much longer experience. But despite the limited layout and lack of any elements to the ride besides one single hill it is still one of the most popular rides. A similar case could be made for boomerang coasters like Invertigo. They are pretty simple and very short layouts but are fun and well liked.

Kings Island 2015 Discussion Thread
I'd imagine it will. It's gotten it the last 14 and with this year's additions being in Planet Snoopy and only enhancing that area I can't imagine they would lose to another park now.

Disney World updates
Toy Story Land will be to the back of the park but they haven't confirmed where the Star Wars land is going. Much speculation has it around Echo Lake which would put that construction near the center of the park, though should still be far enough removed if the Indiana Jones Spectacular was closed down for part of the new land. But yea Disney Springs and Frozen at EPCOT should be done by the end and most of the non-Avatar changes to Animal Kingdom.

Disney World updates
I agree. It looks great, and feel it is different enough from Haunted Mansion to be able to go into one of the other parks without feeling like a rehash. Plus not everyone gets to visit each park anyhow to experience every ride on their visit. I have always felt it would be a good fit in Animal Kingdom as well. It could go in somewhere in Discovery Island area and be themed similarly to HKDL's version about an explorer that collects artifacts from around the world. Since there is multiple world areas represented it and the park itself has an adventure type theme/feel to it I think having an attraction themed around a global explorer would fit right in.

SIX: Nine/THREE
Glad to see SFGA getting Justice League: Battle for Metropolis. It will be a welcome addition to the park and is the closest Six Flags park to me. Thought the ride looked great when it premiered last year so was hoping it would get to Chicago within a few years, so defintiely glad to see it coming now. Haven't been to that park in years so lots of great new additions with it, X-flight, and Colossus to look forward to when I make a trip next year. Also Joker looks like a great coaster. The RMC upgrades in the Six Flags parks have all looked great and this is no exception. Really like the dual colored rails for it as well.

Universal Orlando adding Fast & Furious ride for 2017, removals
Yea I had the same thing happen to me earlier this year with Jurassic Park as well. It was the only ride there closed when we went though so could have been worse. Unfortunately same for Disney, though knew before hand since they let you know. Little Mermaid dark ride was closed which was one of only 2 attractions at WDW I hadn't been on so was bummed it was closed but was teh onyl major closure at the time at least.

Kings Island 2015 Discussion Thread
Yea but the 11th Commandment is more about removal of ride than improvements to it. And TomRaiderFTW that would be an awesome finale, shame to know we are doubtful to ever see anything close. Think any change to track is a pipe dream but that would be awesome. Hopefully we can at least get improved effects at some point.

Kings Island 2015 Discussion Thread
I remember riding AE with all the effects and it was amazing. In addition tot eh fog at the start the statue on the final lift that said "Now you will pay" would tip the bowl and pour fog out over the train as well. And I agree, it would be nice if there was something else after that lift than just returning to the station, especially with the set up from the lift hill and audio. Even if it was something as simple as dipping down into a helix that returned you to the station, just add something so you actually have some little element after being told you will pay instead of just turning into the station. I know it's most likely just a pipe dream but I'd love to see the ride refurbished and effects added back into it (and maybe that additional ending track, but would settle for updated effects). It's still one of the best mine train coasters outside of a Disney park and can be even more amazing. Heck I'd settle for just some more trees planted around the one helix by Banshee with all the arches you go under.

RMC Beast
I'm curious about that too. I knew the second lift hill was a block for the first lift hill which is why it goes so slow for a bit then speeds up until it reaches the top, and does so at different points depending on ride, the lift speeds up when the prior train clears a certain point from the second lift. Didn't know about the brake run losing it's blocking.

RMC Beast
A lot of that wait time also has to do with capacity and loading speeds/crew. Beast has potentially the highest capactiy of any coaster there since it hold 36 people. That's nearly double the 20 that Flight of Fear can hold, so that will allow it's line ot move much quicker. Flight of Fear and Firehawk have very low capacity and can get long waits with short lines. The line length on those that can come to an hour or more would likeley equate a 20-30 minute wait on Beast. Banshee is also still new so will draw bigger crowds but I ahve rarely seen it over 45 minutes (though that is still with a nearly full queue, it's jsut a people eater like Beast). And many times I have gone to the park and still seen Beast with longer wiats than Banshee. So wait times alone aren't enough to show popularity. Beast could be having shorter wait times but still easily sending many more riders through than the ones you mentioned and so have a higher overall popularity.

Haunt 2015
That'd be my guess, Can't imagine they'd go back to a temp space after just building a permanent space for it. Also notice that the Fright Feast doesn't say anything about a single Fright Lane voucher like you got last year. Kind of disappointed if that isn't included. Money is tight right now so not sure if I can justify the extra $55 on Fright Lane this year for everyone in the family so was hoping to do teh feast as it's a great value and get to skip one line.
