  1. I know its off topic but , I am going to go to the park this Saturday and I wondered if anyone had an idea if TR:TR would actually be open? has someone already posted wether or not it would be? I would really like to know before I go, so I don't get my hopes up. ( also, this is a little mean but, if you are going to answer "we anticipate it will be open" then don't bother. Just tell me if they have said wether or not it will be open, or even if they have a good idea about it, that would be great)

Yeah, I drink the free water and bring a water bottle into the park. No way I am paying 2.75 for a sprite. I am guilty though of buying the frozen candy bars once or twice.
  3. Not necessarily, I believe I recall Kylee saying at the photo shoot for Delirium that tickets this year are for that day only. I thought I recalled it always being that way. Besides, if you have a family and are vacationing at PKI, then the park simply tells you to go home? and you've bought tickets for that day? I have to agree with them, I'd be mad too. And that is not a preventable or plan-ahead thing like: weather or crowd or heat. I too would want my money back, and I am sure that if you would have stood your ground, then you would have gotten your manager. And if I were you, I would have demanded a manager. I have been in a situation like this before at the parks in Florida, and they said the same thing. We simply stood our ground and told them no. We got our tickets back and some comps. But, also be cautious, I fully support your decision to confront the park and I believe it should be done, however, there is no reason to be mean or rude to the park. It works much better if you are calm and pleasant, but also firm. But take this warning, you will get no where if you are rude or incooperative to the park.
  4. Yeah, I can sit with my eyes closed and still play out every scene perfectly, text and music. Gosh, I miss that ride.
  5. 3.5, MID-SUMMER, for Tomb Raider. On opening day for TR:TR I only waited 20 mins.
  6. I was wrong. The jerks above set me straight on that issue. But, when you come up to the tunnel with the hill at the end, look up and you'll see the spikes. A few move, but only a short distance. I wish they would add stuff to it, make it a-lot better and have a more adventurous feel to it. Just return the theming that was already there. Like RyanA said, I'll wait a month and see what happens.
  7. sORRY GUYS, the old topic was open for about 15 mins. before the ADMINISTRATORS deemed it "not concrete and not worthy". WHATEVER, its still up above if you would like to read it. I apologize for the waste of HARD DRIVE.
  8. Well, we can rule-out no "sound effects or music" we all PKI would never do that. But I also asked Jeff Siebert about what the man said, Jeff said "he was exactly correct in what he said", I proceeded to ask: "Well, does it cost a-lot to reprogram a ride like TR:TR?" HE SAID:" HO YEAH! it costs hundreds of thousands of dollars to reprogram a ride." I asked: " well why?" he replied:"We have to get the guy that designed the ride system, the guy from Huss, and the team from technifex over here all of which cost cash. Plus, the cost for a longer soundtrack and the new effects we will need. So I guess you could say its not the reprogramming thats expensive, its the equipment and prep that goes along with it. But, nonetheless, it will be done in time for the opening season next year."Jeff Siebert. And this man I am refering too designed the ride, told me about the changes, then Mr. Siebert confirmed them! if you don't think thats black and white enough, then penguins must look like Easter Eggs to you! (no offense meant)
  9. He's right, they ahve taken out alot of tree's and they did not deliver the smoke and mist, fixed effects, and added tunnel they had promised. They probably just got behind. It might be in the works for next season.
  10. This was located in different topic, but I thought it to be worthy enough news to deserve its own topic, so here it is: Yes thats correct, I didn't see his name tag, but someone made a bad comment about the ride being too short. He replied with: " we were going to do it this year, but our time and funds could not support it. So, it will be done for next year. We haven't completely hammered out the details yet, but we do know that it will have a whole rotation ADDED to the original. This rotation will be the escape part of the ride and will involve at least two more flips and added effects. making it about a minute to a minute-and-a-half longer and we are hopping to bring it up to a 5 on the extreme level ( the highest level at pki, only 3 rides have it ). The ride will be longer, but even more than that, it will be MUCH more intense" -again I didn't get his name, but I then asked (just for the sake of clarification) "what did you do on tomb raider?" he replied with: "I designed the ride sequence and effects" So there you have it! I also agree with RyanA, lets focus on getting the ride FULLY OPERATIONAL before we start adding stuff to it. Tomb raider will be change, right there it is! black and white confirmation!
  11. This really needs to be put into topic format, so I'll start a new topic.
  12. I agree, I also like them equally. They both have good qualities. Both have their Pro's and their Con's.
  13. All three are, look on a park map if you have one. SOB, The Beast, FOF, AND FACE-OFF (whoops! scratch that , make it four) TR:TR will hopefully be added to that list.

  15. RE-THEMED? WHY ? no, that is definetly a rumor. Tomb Raider will get some new theming NEXT YEAR. but nothing will be taken away from what is already there.
  16. Well thats good. I am happy that it will be back up and running soon! and finally someone answered why it broke down. I was going to go this weekend, but my friend called as said he couldn't go. I just hope it stays open until the next weekend, so I can ride it! I have a link to a website devoted soley to TR:TR, It is: Tomb Raider
  17. 113 times ? I thought riding TR:TR 53 times was alot! anyways, It might have been another year it was open. But , I am not going to bring myself to argue about restraints.
  18. yeah, check that link again
  19. Nope , not confused, maybe it was just a few specific seats, but I remember the foot braces. Nothing to argue over though.
  20. Oh no, i vividly remeber the foot braces, I have the scars from last season to prove it!
  21. Inraider replied to Island Freak's topic in Kings Island
I hold to what I said before, they have no excuse. and I would love to work on TR:TR in the future. And I have hopes on becoming employed there and working on it. I promise you I'll give a better response than: "Uh....I'm sorry, tomb raider is closed down right now, check back later, maybe it'll be open." No, there is a difference between breaking down and being down for three days! Thats not breaking down, I guess you're right Teenageninja, I don't understand the rides, but what I do understand is the fact that I KNOW PKI can do a better job at repairing rides than that. I do expect a lot more from them than a ride that "just happened to break down" sorry guys, that doesn't cut it. and it never will cut it. I didn't wait all off-season to ride Scooby, I didn't wait all off-season to ride Delirium, I waited ALL off-season to ride TOMB RAIDER!!and then the day finaly arrives, and guess what! its closed! Nope, I know what I said and I stick by it, Tomb Raider should have been open from day one. And you guys said "it was tested a month before the park opened and it ran perfectly! but when we got people on it, it just magically broke down! what a shock!"-you wanna know what I have to say about that, DUHHHHHHH! gee, will people be riding TR:TR? yes! well then they should test it with people on it! You see, it really has nothing to do with the mechanics behind it, but rather the lack of common sense used when dealing with them.
  22. You're all wrong, well more or less at least, SOB'S restraints did infact change. Didn't any of you notice that the foot brace was gone! yay! and I would love to see FOF-like lap bars on Vortex. It would add a whole new appeal to the ride and not to mention making it much more enjoyable.
  23. Inraider replied to Dane's topic in Trip Reports
There was a guy there with a PKIUNLIMITED gray-hooded aweatshirt on. I'm guessing he was about 6'3 with long sideburns and and attractive girl at his side. He was riding on Delirium later in the day (after 6) and I never got to ask who he was? so which one of you guys was it?
  24. Well, no offense meant, but that seems like an awful athetical way of looking at it.
  25. Centerville is not out. However, I do not like the fact that it is not, and I am a devoted Christian, so I will be taking the day off. BUT , you will not find me at PKI during good friday. I don't think anyone should have to work that day or Sunday for that matter. I will be at the park Saturday, all day. .....and yes there are HUGE differences in the Catholic and Christian religions.
