  1. I've always felt like the scare actors are wasted as "roamers." They could staff more mazes if they just ditched the roamers and have a more family friendly atmosphere to boot. Then again, they wouldn't be selling as many of those glowing necklaces. Honestly, they really should add more weeknights to Haunt as well, at least as we get closer to Halloween. The park has so many passholders and other people nearby who would be willing to show up on a weeknight and it would help distribute the crowds to different days. Of course, we all can imagine why they don't do this.
  2. Are you confusing GCI with Gravity Group or Skyline Attractions with Skyline Chili?
  3. Honestly, these day I don't trust what people on the internet say about Disney parks. Many people don't seem to get that the experience will never be as magical as when they were kids and that going every year is just going to make it less and less interesting. Plus many people will convince themselves that everything is worse for other cultural reasons. That's not to say Disney doesn't have reasons to be concerned, but I have too many reasons to ignore what people say on forums and the like, especially Disney forums. A park's biggest critics are its longtime fans. This very site is evidence of that.
  4. Okay guys. Why didn't you tell me we got a sweet, new dueling RMC this year?
  5. When queso was included at Enrique's/Hank's I would say a chicken burrito bowl. I suppose it still counts even if you have to pay extra for the queso... I think the pub burger is just okay. I always preferred the burgers at Jukebox, at least until they "streamlined" that place.
  6. Got my first visit of the year in yesterday. I'm fine with the new shade/festival structure, personally. Not happy that drink stands/restaurants don't open until 11 but I survived. And neither freestyle was open at all during the day. Especially annoying since every drink station had a line all day despite being a mild, early June weekday. I noticed they opened up more of the queue inside at FoF. So I ended up waiting longer than expected in the morning. Operations were on point at least but I still think they need to switch the fastlane system up (like using RFID?). I saw too many empty rows on rides, especially DB, because of the delays filling the gates. What really caught me off guard: the Cicadas. I know the park has had them in the past but I've never seen them so bad. There were all over the place, landing on everyone, smacking me in the face on Mystic Timbers, etc etc. Leaving The Bat I saw young kids covering their ears because of the noise. But hey...I didn't see any of the usual bees hanging out the drink stations.
  7. That's my motto for 2025. I've been pelted with these silver pass notifications too. It's not uncommon for apps to have a separate notification channel for the app in general and users signed into the app, so it shouldn't be hard for them to fix this. Of course I also get "buy a membership" notifications from the Six Flags app but currently that app just sees my pass as a "daily ticket" or whatever.
  8. Would be nice if our country clamped down on "service fees"
  9. Not just the investment that they get but the fact that CP has no shortage of flat rides. Does anyone in the chain even come close in that regard?
  10. Hard to imagine any of the flat rides being straight up demolished aside from the Drop Tower. Some are fairly new including a star flyer, a NebuluZ and a discovery. Looking at what they have I realized the park technically has two "flying dutchman" rides, which is kind of funny. Ragin' Cajun probably has a shot too.
  11. When they talked about offloading or closing parks, this is the one that popped in everyone's head. So yeah, not a huge surprise. Always a shame to lose a park though and I feel terrible for the people nearby who actually enjoy SFA despite its reputation. I've never been there, so I may have to see if I can get there before they close. Sounds like the county wants them to find a buyer and keep it zoned as entertainment but the corporation would rather redevelop it and get some people to drive to KD, it would seem.
  12. I hope everyone gets a chance to ride. I was lucky enough to get 2 rides a year ago and it was fantastic.
  13. I believe they would need one more along with Siren's and TT2 to match Energylandia.
  14. On one hand CF was wanting an excuse to close TTD which was expensive to maintain and while I imagine X2 isn't a great ride to keep running, it doesn't seem to be TTD level of problematic. But on the other hand, they've been on a spree of closing down rides and SFMM, probably more than anyone, needs to cut out some fat.
  15. We're definitely reaching a saturation point with B&M models but that probably won't stop them from putting a B&M dive everywhere they can.
  16. I would be more excited now for a Mack than I would have been a few years ago. They arguably made the two best new rides of 2024 and are safely in the top-tier of coaster manufacturers now. But I'll echo what others say about B&M. They are just the boring, safe manufacturer now and their quality appears to have gone downhill. Also: S&S. I was interested in where they take things and its only been disappointing.
  17. A couple weeks ago I met my family inside the KI Starbucks after I grabbed food from LaRosa's. Part of me worried if someone was going to say anything but I was with my group and it was a cold, rainy day and there was plenty of space in there. Honestly, that Starbucks is a waste of indoor dining space in the park, even if G&G is next door.
  18. I might ask to look at my parents' photo collection. The may have something, since we used it a few times in the 90s. I recall it having an actual picnic shelter.
  19. I have trouble deciding between: -The speed hill on Orion: great airtime at high speed -The consecutive banked hills on Mystic Timbers, if you can count that as one element -The double helix on The Beast or... -The drop into the double helix: It's just so weird and unsettling building up speed at a steady but slow pace, and you're banked for the whole drop making it extra awkward, but in a fun way.
  20. We got an invert right across from an old invert and a new wood coaster in the same area of the park as our most famous wood coaster. So at least those B&M's are in different parts of the park
  21. I recall some expressing that the park should focus on operating its existing rides before getting a big new coaster. ...someone should tell that to Magic Mountain.
  22. I know its operating temps have been discussed but Adventure Express would be fun for Winterfest. They could have some fun with the theming.
  23. I'm not a rabid RMC fan like many others. I dislike the restraints in particular but I get why people love the rides as they are pretty much as wild as a coaster can get. So I wouldn't mind seeing one at KI...but I want it to be something special and not just a typical mid-level one Six Flags one.
  24. I missed out on Haunt this year for various reasons but managed to get to the park for the last day of the season before Winterfest. I was pretty happy with the reasonable crowds and honestly the ride crews were on point. Everything was running at full capacity other than Banshee running 2 trains and WindSeeker not running. I don't think I saw any stacking on the coasters. Also, tried the spicy mac & cheese from Wishbone. It wasn't a ton of pasta but there was a lot of tender, fatty beef pieces which were surprisingly good. Aside from some insufferable young men trying to start a political chant on The Beast (and annoying the entire train), it was a pleasant end to the fall season. Also, I noticed the music in Rivertown, at least that I heard, was purely instrumental. Is that just a fall thing? I very much prefer that to the country style cover songs.
  25. I hope the next passholder survey suggests Mystic with a loop and LSMs.
