  1. Making the ride last longer is part of reducing wear and tear, and reducing the chances of the incidents.
  2. Kings Island makes the most money as it is. As long as they occasionally improve the park and add rides like they have been, they have no reason to put in a huge coaster. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with that. But I think us getting a giga is a bit overstated around here.
  3. They still would have known it was nearing end of life. Whether that would have been another couple of years, or a decade. The loop removal and train change was to try to lengthen it's lifespan.
  4. This, when you start showing up with equipment, and judging by the smoothness and random panning towards the end, (ironically right at the approaching security associate). It's really hard to differentiate between commercial work and personal use.
  5. They aren't getting the shaft as far as CF is concerned... Our model is now going to be a family park vs. a thrill park. Other than GA, KI is the only park that hasn't seen much added to really get the thrillseekers going. Other than where we would have holes, like a true inverted coaster that was LONG OVERDUE, and even Diamondback really just filled a hole I think they knew was going to be left by Son of Beast for a big height coaster. KI is a unique, more traditional amusement park crowd. It's for families, not 300ft rides. I'd love to be wrong, but even while Paramount owned the park this was still how business was carried out.
  6. I really think KI is going to just get the shaft because of it's proximity to CP. I'm not hopeful for a giga at all either.
  7. I'm guessing he had some pretty crazy equipment. But also there are probably some areas they would begin to wonder about the activity behind the camera. I'm sure security has quite a bit of awareness for people taking pictures of others who are not knowingly related to the camera operator, there is also a safety risk should something be scoped out especially at the front gate such as this. Other parks also ban filming people not in your party, KI will police this on their own for when they feel like someone is being a nuisance to others. I believe Holiday World has gotten some people upset because they've told people not to even film rides. (They have signs up about not taking pictures that could include people not in your party). They probably assumed he was using professional gear and would need special park permission.
  8. Probably just the condition of things and they figured they would be losing the Top Gun name anyway. A lot of the themeing was gone before CF bought the park.
  9. I to follow boddah on instagram.
  10. I've had good luck with it on the days I go. Always seems like I get on in 10-15 minutes. They've always been running both sides and are good about pulling out singles. Most of the time I'm on after they load a couple trains. But I also only go on days they aren't busy, and it's not at Cedar Point.
  11. Has anyone measured the distance for a basic loop around the park? Front Gate - AZ- Coney-Rivertown-PS-Back to IS? Without using the middle paths that connect closer to the Eiffel Tower?
  12. You could argue the 4d theater... but other than that I think that's it without losing a store or food location. A dark ride like what holiday world has could be great there to. I was actually kind of impressed with their kiddie kingdom when I went last year. That's the kind of thing that will really boost season passes. Especially in that type of a market.
  13. Thanks, I fixed it. I've also been calling Storm Chaser Storm Runner all day. I might as well just start talking about greased lightning now to... xD Both are from different companies, but they share a ton. Which I'm sure it a big part of why they feel so close. If lightning run was made by RMC and the track looked a hair different, everyone would be going crazy talking about it. The trains are also identical as far as I can tell other than the looks of them. I actually kind of like LRs handle they have on the bar though. Wish SR had them. Both the rides feel like they were made by the same person and other than the looks of them and inversions they ride very much alike. A GCI would also work very well for them. But from a marketing perspective they already have a wooden coaster. I think a 4d RMC or Raptor is the most likely. It just would fit the best for the park from a business relationship and what the park is capable of dealing with. I think RMC should also really be using it to push what their rides are capable of doing to a small park that has really struggled. Without RMC I don't think that park would be what it is. They fit a PERFECT void and need for small parks that can't afford to have a big B&M/Intamin operation.
  14. Nah, i'm just saying they should be able to board when they go up the exit. I think the old system was fine when they really didn't do stamps unless the line was more than like 30-45mins. But I understand why the system is in place that they have now.
  15. I'd bet good money they get a raptor or t-rex track. It's just too good of a perfect fit from a company that has been involved with two of their other rides that have done phenomenal for them. Honestly I would like for them to get something different, Lightning Run and Storm Chaser are really fun, but they almost feel like they are the same? Minus inversions and all that. They are both crazy air time coasters.
  16. So disabled people need to have someone do it for them? I understand how the system works, I'm just voicing my concern for why we have to have it in the first place. People get worried about way too much.
  17. People need to just get over it... I'd just say "oh I'm sorry I don't look disabled enough for you" sit down and enjoy my day. I think it's BS that guests can't just board when they get there, but because of the 1 in 100 fakes (i don't think there are as many as people act like, no one wants to deal with the awkwardness of pretending to be disabled) they feel they need to do this. Obviously for really long times it's understandable to do a stamp or have someone wait through the line while the party is at the exit, but I mean on some rides are these people really supposed to go all the way up the exit, stamp their card, and then go somewhere they can sit down or be in the a/c then come back? By the time they get where they are going it's already their time to ride. Beast for example has a really long exit line before you get to a bench, probably even longer than Top Guns.
  18. I think it was just a filter/mask that went over the photo so they could move and stretch to fit how you wanted your picture to be. I found this, but I'm not sure if it was the official one or not.
  19. FOFs photos used to put aliens in the backseat of your car.
  20. They are probably sold off to someone will to pay for it for scrap? Maybe landscaping or water flow control material? I know a creek by my house always has concrete crap from random stuff dumped into it to keep the water flow controlled after rain. I'd be they were probably broken up with a machine and buried or trucked out by someone. I'd be willing to bet there is a machine that could be transported on site to grind the material down .
  21. That article even states they are going after members of the construction company that built it.
  22. The patio was behind wings/reds hall of fame grill. I don't think the oktoberfest bridge is in the original video either, I think that's just the patio for the biergarten. Bridge probably won't show up on many maps because it was just a path TO the biergartens and not really a path to an area. It's hard to say why/when it was removed, but probably relating to an ADA issue or just upkeep. (ADA was passed in 1990, Paramount purchased the parks 1992 and dumped some money into them from the beginning) Or even to direct flow to the front of the building instead of having people getting lost trying to find the entrance. From a lot of the pictures I think it actually really hurt the view of the pond. It looks much better without it.
  23. ^ I'm sure they deliberately chose to NOT paint over the flag in the tunnel. Someone would want to use it as a chance to brag about how patriotic they are and spout off on Facebook and try to get a bunch of bad press.
  24. I hope it's just a new piece of track... I'm sure we'd know if it was closing, but I love arrow suspended coasters, and I've only rode Iron Dragon once, just simply because the other rides there are more fun and take up more time in lines. I was just thinking this past week how I kind of regret not riding it this past August when I went.
