What's up with The Crypt
I don't think that a swing in your garage equals the ride experience on the Crypt. It's crazy fast, flips you MULTIPLE times without warning, and although the theming is (let's be honest) lame, the ride itself it great for what it is. There are fans of Drop Zone (Tower) who adore the ride and all it does is bring you up, drop you down going 61 mph. I finally rode DT, and LOVED IT. But is it worth my constant praise, no. The Crypt on the other hand IS. I loved Tomb Raider, I miss Tomb Raider, I still wanna yell "We should go back!" at the appropriate moment.... But it's a diff ride, unique unto itself. And that's what I love about it. Speed, hearing NOOBS scream their heads off, the whole 9 yards. I could live without the ink pen outta someone's pocket not paying attention to the black pouch speech (which hit me in the head on the first flip...) But I digress. If a "Monster" coaster takes it place, then so be it. I'll miss my giant huss top spin! deb

Judging by progress, what are they chances this thing will be FINISHED for HH? Talk about a crowd inducer opening then. And with the snake eyes..... deb

What's up with The Crypt
It shook like that both times I rode it. I assumed it was the only way to get it to stop. Now that I know it was malfunctions, makes me cautious of riding again (hubby won't ride due to "personal issues" with the restraints (think family jewels)) so I have to go it alone. *shrug* deb

Rollercoaster(s) rumor
As it stands, we've got 14. Add 3 to that, we'd have 17, and be knocking the door that CP has had the key to (most coasters) for years. Granted, its still the same purse regardless where the cash comes from. I just don't see CP handing KI that particular key. If they weren't skittish about Ohio competition, Geauga Lake would still have coasters. deb

Shoes at the waterpark
I always wear matching flip flops (prone to heat blisters). On rides I can't wear them, I drop them at the exit line, pick them up when I come back. deb

The beast at night
I get in line at 9:30ish. There is usually a line, but once ppl who don't know they shut down 4 fireworks take off, it's usually only 3 trains til ride time like it was with us on the 28th. deb

6/28/08: WHEEEEEE
So we went on Sat. New "coaster" area looks pitiful. Got there about 11:30 after all the linage at the lot. Made a promise to ride DZ errr Tower, so I did, and um, I LIKED it! No inebriation required! Played around in the waterpark for a while, had fun. We took my nephew and his GF (mini me and casey, essentially). I bounced my head off the side of Taz Typhoon.... not fun! Pitstop to Avatar ( I forgot) Went to eat then, was about 3 ish. Decided to hit the coasters, drove through to get stuff @ BB (I <3 GP!) got back to the lot. Walked to to F/O (omfg I mean Invertigo) and it started raining. We were lucky and waited for a full 1:30 hrs to ride, then waited through 3 rides before it was us. It was awesome!!!! Then we went to Firehawk (finally a name I can get right first try). My nephew had NEVER been to KI ever, and we waited about 1.30 on it too. He didn't like it- not fast enough and seeing the ground. I got a keychain. Here's a pic of the pic: Then they wanted to ride Vortex.... we're too tall.... so we had some scrumptious rivertown fries and rode The Crypt (which I LOVE btw). Caught back up with them, me and the kids rode The Crypt again, then it was 9:30 and time for The Beast.... FABULOUS. Alls I got to say! And in the pic: Left is jason (nephew), then kourtney (gf), deb (me), and casey (hubby). And I know it's horrible pic. I can't get it outta the keychain! \m/ deb

The Crypt
I still say that CF should contact nbc/universal about borrowing rights from Tales From The Crypt... and adding the cryptkeeper and and all his ghoulish fiends and giving us a slamming ride to top it off. deb

Okay I need help with this
I've been a rollercoaster fan since the 90s. But I'm terrified of heights. going up, I concentrate on the floor, the track, or with FH, the interior of my eyelids until that fab flip. I can't handle knowing I'm getting closer to space, but hey, as long as the ground is there, I'm all for it! What can I say, it's comforting seeing where I'm going. Top of the first hill on The Beast, all I see is track and concrete tunnel before I lose my seat for about 10 seconds! And that second drop, my fav. All drops should have a twist like that helix. exhilaration! deb

Can You Ride?
I fit on everything... but I won't ride everything. I don't have a tremendous bust, but on The Beast and just about all the other coasters, unless I'm wearing a very tight bathing suit, I lose mine on the first drop. I can't imagine what that'd be like for you. I'm 5'9", and on Vortex, I get severe headaches because my head bounces on the shoulder restraints. My hubby is 6'4" and on Vortex and TG (I'm sorry, even though I got a "FlyGirl" tee shirt, it's still TG to me, not Flight Deck) he has to ride in the front of a car (not necessarily in the first car, just the front) so he can slump enough to fit under the shoulder restraints. His legs are only 34" (one inch longer than mine) but he has a long torso, and can't fit in the back at all on anything, really. deb

June 5: Boomerang Bay and TWIGS....
June 5 would make my 4th trip to KI this season, and this is the first time I've been compelled to do a TR... because of how BAD Boomerang Bay has gotten! The water seemed to be be flowing faster on the raft rides (Typoon, Rapids), but wow was it dirty! I was completely embarrassed to say I'd been a gold pass holder for 2 years! I could not believe how dirty the (I still call it) Lazy River was! I wore a white bathing suit and nearly had to BATHE after a float (although I am happy to report there are SIZE options on the rafts, and plenty of doubles) because of all the tree gunk! When we got to the area where the water comes down from the slides, you could SEE BROWN leaves and twigs in the run off area! That tells me that nothing was cleaned before being filled! I was planning on making a formal complaint at the Guest Relations, but my hubby got a mix of heat exhaustion/sun poisoning/reg exhaustion (he works nights and we left after he got out of work) so we had to leave at about 5. He got ill on the Zephyr. I get a giggle out of that. lol Anywho, I am hoping that someone else had the chance the say something to GR, but I doubt it. KI could lose patronage due to severely icky water, and I'm honestly thinking about going elsewhere for a dip if the prob isn't better on my next trip. Makes me wonder what GL is gonna look like once it's all water! deb

The Crypt Music
No music here, either. The ride would ROCK if they'd get copyright for Tales From The Crypt... man, I still love that show! deb

Front End or Rear End?
I like the front on most everything... I get how these kids say the back is faster... It FEELS faster... when it's just that as soon as you hit the top of the lift hill, you're off and going straight down. Plus all that weight in front of you... crazy. I like the front so I can see what's coming... esp on Top... er... FD (fights twitch urge), The Beast, and I like the ends on Invertigo (man, that sucks to type, Face/Off was so much EASIER)... completely different feeling! deb

Favorite ride at kings island
It's the heights for me. On any other coaster I stare at the track, but I can't on FH. I'm terrified of heights... only looking up, though. I had been listening to Three Days Grace in the car.. and it was still stuck in my head, so after a whole 1.5 hours in line, the song was still there during the lift hill. TY 3DG! deb

Best Shoes to Wear
Maybe it IS Indiana feet, but I'm not from Indiana, I just live there! I'm a KY girl at heart. I was born and grew up in KY, moved to Indiana at 22. My feet hurt because I am used to wearing Birks. I wore the same Nikes to pick my son up from school in the winter, slipped and fell, and have had issues since. Once you get used to wearing Birkenstocks (they make you feel like you are barefoot, only with SUPERIOR support) you really CAN'T wear any other shoes for a length of time. I see myself in the store, trying on shoes, and liking them... until I TRY to walk in them. I sure hope I can find some Tatami (a Birk brand) athletic sandals! deb

Favorite ride at kings island
My fav will always be Top... errr... Flight Deck (twitch). But should someone fall out into a hole and take it out, it's DEF Firehawk for coasters. I ACTUALLY had my eyes open while riding it on sun, and I LOVED IT! (when I say had my eyes open I mean with the exception of the lift hill and the loop... I can't handle being up and looking up... *shudder*) My other fav was Tomb Raider... since it's The Crypt, we'll have to see... IF they ever OPEN IT! deb

The County Line, Let Me Show You It.
I'm not a country kinda girl in any sense, and I went BACK to see what I'd missed with this show. It was great! A little old country, a little new country, a little political country... mostly what made the country genre. I thought they all did a great job! Definitely a show my kids will LOVE! deb

Best Shoes to Wear
I wore Adidas while pregnant... talk about comfy.. 10 years ago! I have a hard time finding comfy shoes for myself because I've got a killer arch... the side of my foot BARELY even touches ground. I've got to have something with an arch. On Sun I wore my Nike tennis shoes. BAD decision. I was in so much pain my the time I got home I could barely walk. I wear Birkenstocks 24/7/365(6). I LOVE my Birks. Nothing better, esp at KI. I've got to get my new ones worn in, they've got a backstrap so I can keep them on. When I rode Firehawk at the KIC VIP thingy in august I had to take my shoes off... and I felt like my legs MIGHT fly out from under the leg supports... deb
