Poll of the Week
I don't know if it is International Street or not, but I think they'd be cool located in the area where the dolphin show used to be, the Rivertown lake currently is, and the Wings Picnic area is. As for where they will really go, who knows.

What else will get we get in 2005?
You know, I'd just be happy with the Italian Job, though there are some capital improvements that would like to see happen throughout the park.

What is the craziest day you've seen at PKI?
I think a lot of employees will vouch for me when I say June 30th, 2002. Craziest Day I have ever experienced. I still remember the marquee.... "Park becoming full, please come back another day." Probably would have broken 100K if they didn't shut the gate down.

The Beach vs PKI Cabannas
I can't vouch for what the Beach's Cabana's are like, but I can tell you about PKI's. Our cabanas line the Great Barrier Reef (Our Wave Pool), and are located in their own private area. For 59.99 (49.99 GSP) you receive the following benefits: --A Private Cabana for up to 6 people --2 Personal Lounge Chairs, 4 Table Chairs, a Table, and a Lockbox --Poolside Waiter Service from our wonderful Cabana Hosts --A fully stocked mini-fridge (pay as you go) --A Complimentary DaSani Water for each member in your party --Free Usage of Towels within Cabana Area Those are many of the benefits of renting a cabana here at PKI. If you would be interested in renting a cabana, the reservation line is (513) 754-5776. Walkups are permitted but on hot days the cabanas rent out extremely quickly.

How far do you live from PKI
30 Minutes from PKI, located in the West Side of town, Dent Specifically.

No coaster, then what?
I'd be happy if they brought back Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal, but we all know that won't happen. But, I'd also be happy if they got one or two new flats in-- Canada's Wonderland's Shockwave looks like a blast, and I think it would be awesome if we got one of those.

Water Park
I think I speak for everyone in my management team when I say Please God, no. I can't imagine what two thousand of those time intensive things would do to my team, people forgetting their PINs left and right, malfunctions, that all makes me shudder. I'll keep my key driven lockers and occasional lost key scenarios any day.
-
Water Park
My advise is that should you not rent a locker, be careful of where you put your stuff, as there is a high probability that things could be stolen. At the same time however, if you rent a locker keep an eye on your key, the same people who steal from guest's bags love to take the people's keys at any chance they get. Don't take your eyes off of your locker key, for that one instant that you do your key will be taken, and then to retrieve your stuff you would have to go through the pleasure of meeting me.

BB Cabana Rentals
If I read correctly he mentioned that it was "too expensive". I was responding to that, not the sponsorship. Sorry that I tied cheap and expensive together with the post, but I was definitely responding to something relevant in his quote.

BB Cabana Rentals
Cheap, eh? I wholeheartedly disagree. What all do you get at the cabana that you normally would have to buy? Two Lockboxes to lock stuff-- BB Locker Price-- 5 each Dry towels, that generally you'd have to buy-- 9.99 saved per towel Not having to find a lounge chair-- A nice convenience Cabana Hosts who work their best to serve our guests-- Yet another convenience Want something from Dundee's Shack? Seaside Supplies? We'll try our best to get it for you-- yet another convenience Lack of the dollar service charge associated with the pool area-- yet another convenience There are many, many more conveniences that I could go about, I'm sorry that you feel it is expensive, but there is a lot more than certain "amenities." And also, the vinyl cabanas do look tacky, but anything else would have been a cleaning nightmare. Also if you have any suggestions about how to make our DaSani ® Cabana Village better, let us know. We want to make it the best service possible, and suggestions are appreciated.

Do you think you could survive w/out PKI?
Yep, yes... I think I could survive without PKI, since the four basic needs are are food, water, shelter, and space. I'd still have all four of those without PKI, so yeah, I guess I could. It might be hard finding a source of income that pays as well as PKI if it did not exist, but that's a shame that I'll never really know how hard it will be to find a new job since PKI does exist. Awww.....

BB Cabana Rentals
Half day rentals, as far as I am aware of, are not going anywhere anytime soon. However, when we take reservations, we only take them for full day rentals. For the person who asked about reservations, cabana reservations can be made by calling (513) 754-5776. Remember, reservations are made for full days only. Most of the features of the cabanas were mentioned, but I'll mention some more. --Up to six people can be in one cabana --2 Lounge Chairs complete with a lockbox under the chair --Chairside service (without service charge) --Use of towels -- Everything else mentioned

Is anyone going to Boomerang Bay opening day?
The waterpark, in a short sense is neat. Lot's of colors, lots of atmosphere, lots of fun. It definitely isn't that old waterpark you remember from the past, it definitely has changed. How much so? Well, in one week, I am sure you will see.

Is anyone going to Boomerang Bay opening day?
I'll be there both days for passholder weekend, working doubles to ensure that the stores run efficiently. Don't know about media day though, got classes that I definitely cannot miss on that day. Maybe though if I am lucky I can actually ride something that weekend, as I've seen the attractions run and they look and sound like a ton of fun.

La Rosas pizza or Skyline chile
Wow, I must not be a true Cincinnatian, even though I have lived on the West Side all my life (but that will change come September), and everything about my background screams Cincinnatian, except for the I hate Skyline thing. I'm partial towards LaRosa's obviously, but of everything there I am a sucker for the Pepperoni and Cheese Calzone and their Cheese Sticks.

Trip Report (A Little Long) 4/18
Man the fright light thing was a joke, apparently taken way out of context. Plain and simple, my friend kicked my butt. Kinda sad though, since he never had rode the ride, where I rode it 5 times on Easter. And yes, I do think The Beast sound effects are cheesy. Quite frankly, I feel The Beast speaks for itself, and doesn't need cheesy effects to 'heighten' the experience. At night, it is kinda a little bit scary going up that lift with only the chain and the darkness. The sound effects destroy that, in my opinion.

Main Park vs. Water Park
I may work in the waterpark, but I didn't start to work at PKI because of the waterslides, I started to work there because of the rides. The dry rides rock, but then I am not opposed to going to the waterpark to go down some slides, if the option was presented I would consider it.

Trip Report (A Little Long) 4/18
Well, it was a lovely day to be off and visit the park, friends and I got there a little after ten for a great day of riding. First place we go to is Rivertown and Tomb Raider: The Ride. We get there only to find out that it is currently not open. Drat. We head to The Beast next. Beast rides like the same old beast I know and love, but I really think that the new sound effects are lame. I am entitled to my own opinion. We get off the ride and then head to Coney Mall. Once in Coney Mall, one of my friends coaxes us into getting on Zephyr. Nice relaxing ride, at least she enjoyed it. We got off and headed to Flight of Fear. Line is close to a walk on, we get on and away we go, it’s hard to believe that at one point in time the ride had utterly painful OTSRs. To those I say, Good Riddance. I like how you can sort of see things in the building now, all the supports are packed in that building. After getting off of FoF we head to the backwards racer. I love that ride, but it would have been better had they actually been racing. Can’t have everything. We get off The Racer and head to the Action Zone, getting in line for Face/Off. After a 20 minute wait we get on and ride it. Short but sweet. We get off and then head to Son of Beast. Still don’t like that ride, it still beats the living hell out of you and then the restraint was cutting off circulation to my lower body. Not a good mix. I would say though that the ride on SoB was more enjoyable than the rides that I have had on the forwards racer. After SoB it’s off to lunch outside the park. I had to laugh at my friends, admissions definitely stamped the hell out of their hands, so much so that they still had the hand stamp after attempting to scrub it off. It’s a shame that I didn’t have to get one of those. Anyways, once back in the park we again head to Rivertown looking to catch a ride on Tomb Raider. It’s actually open now—hooray! They were only loading two rows but the line was actually moving extremely fast, I have to commend the crew on that. I personally think that TR:TR is a great ride, the show, while missing some elements, still is a well done show. My friends sure liked it, and I know I did. I personally love being flipped every which way possible. Because the line was so short we got back in line again. This time they were loading all three rows—sweet. We get on, the ride starts, and then halfway through the cycle the ride breaks down. Oh well. We get off eventually, and head to the Action Zone, getting on Delirium. The giant Frisbee rocks in every way possible, so fast, so much fun. Once off we head to Drop Zone, but it is experiencing some technical issues, so we head off to Top Gun. Walking on Top Gun makes it well worth the hike, which we were able to do. Sweet. Once off we see Drop Zone is open again and head there and get on. Drop Zone still makes me a little tense to this day, though no where near as much as when it first opened. From Drop Zone we head to Adventure Express, it seems jerkier this year, maybe it is just me. Nonetheless it is still fun. From Adventure Express we head to Scooby Doo and the Haunted Castle. How is it that I can beat Merchandise’s resident Scooby fanatic at least once, but I can’t beat my friend, where it is his first time visiting the park since 1998? My fright light must have been defective, yes defective. From Scooby Doo, we ride Tomb Raider, FoF and Delirium over again, and then head home. Overall it was a fun day and the only comments I have are the following: --Tomb Raider cycled through at an impressive rate --The cycle time on FoF was slow as heck --My Fright Light must have been defective

Awesome Day
With all the back areas of Merch being closed (By back area I mean lower traffic), it lead to a whole bunch of us riding rides, have to say that I rode Scooby Doo way too many times that day, and got it handed to me by Merchandise's resident Scooby Doo! freak. At least I beat her once

Whats your favorite coaster at Pki?
recaR, just because it is no where near as painful as its counterpart, offers a great ride, and it is backwards, which makes it sweet in many ways.

The Power Outage
Hey me too, it was my two day vacation too so it kinda sucked royally, but as the saying goes, [deleted] happens. I personally thought MF being stuck 300 ft in the air was cooler than where the Magnum was, but then this isn't a topic about my trip to CP. I got some lovely photos of that park with out power though, only wish though that I had saved some photos for the antics that were occurring on the highways back to Cincinnati. Remember, if a stop light is out, treat the intersection like a four way intersection-- it's the law. Anyways back on topic, yeah that was bad timing for a power blip/ shortage/ whatever you want to call it. It happened right after shift change for us, and it caused a huge influx into the stores. It could have been worse for us though.

April 3, 2004 Trip Report
That power outage was interesting to say the least, as it didn't only affect rides, but also many other departments who experienced the ripple effects of the rides being closed. I know for Fudge n Fun there was a huge influx of people into it once the rides went down, but just like food merch was having its own problems. Today (4/4) should be better from a employee standpoint, for some reason I just don't think there'll be a whole lot of people coming to the park.

Why I love PKI? Because.......
Drama? At PKI? No, there's none of the sort... Anyways I love PKI because for some reason they place me back in the location I love year after year. Also got to love the rides too.
