Man Dies After Riding Stardust Racers
Horrible incident/ accident for all involved. There is an immense amount of speculation surrounding this. So immense- it's difficult to weed through most of it. The press release from president & COO of Universal Resort was done with empathy to the victim & family and also suggests the ride did not have any failure as described in the YouTube video previously described (which isn't a great shock). Not trying to sound callous- besides the initial coroner's report (which I found to have been released incredibly quick), I wonder if the victim had a medical episode that caused him to lose consciousness allowing is body to simply be limp in the restraint. Mack has also quickly revised their safety requirements for Hyperia at Thorpe park (which has similar seat design/ restraint as SDR): Perhaps it was necessary to change the safety requirement but I also hope that the change was not knee-jerk that may eliminate those it wheelchairs from enjoying the ride safely.

If Son of Beast was different
SoB was crazy spectacular structure to look at. The ride was the most disappointing of any coaster for us (parents, wife, myself) - which dates back to late 70's/ early 80's. Many rides had issues: original Bat, original TTD, WT, Hypersonic, Volcano, Drachen Fire etc...... None stack up to the disappointment that SoB turned out to be. We wanted the experience that was felt in 1979 when Beast opened given the name SoB- which gave it lofty expectations The specs were more than eye opening & impressive. Paramount wanted to compete with Cedar Point's 2000 addition of MF. IMO they cut too many corners- especially with $$. The design was bad. The structure was worse. The experience was mind-blowingly terrible. If you are going to use "Beast" in the name- why no tunnels? Why so easily seen? Ok....only 1 lift hill is accepted given the loop but they took away some major elements that made Beast incredibly popular. To CF's credit- they tried polishing a turd. And to put this out there- SoB's last rides were in June 2009. RMC was still in their own R&D stage in 2009 and did not come out with their first "ride" until 2011. In hindsight, Paramount should have waited for better options, better design. Waiting a year or two for a better product after MF debuted would make no difference today. Some enthusiasts say SoB was supposed to be rough. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but there is no ride that was nearly as painful and failed expectations. I loved KI from 1979 and was my #1 park. It wasn't until 1989 that CP changed that feeling with the addition of Magnum.

Bye bye, Boo Blasters
^^ If it's not opening next year (and I put it at less than 50/50 it will open), it's likely due to the logistics of clearing the current ride components out, refurbishing the building for everything needed for the new ride and then new ride construction. It's not easy working within the constraints of a current structure. That being said, can it be assumed the current structure is staying? And if so, is it staying as-is? It should be understood that building is approximately 54-55 years old. I personally want it to take over a year to be completed for what could potentially be a better ride experience.

Bye bye, Boo Blasters
That is assuming the ride stays within the confines of the building.

Bye bye, Boo Blasters
According to KI map history, the building that currently houses BBoBH has been "located" both in the kids area & on International Street depending on the year. 1973-1980= Hanna Barbera 1981= IS 1982= HB 1983- 1985= IS 1986-1987= HB It's pointless to go through all the the maps for the list- you get the idea.. https://www.themeparkbrochures.net/kings-island-map-and-brochure/#kings-island-map-2001

Siren’s Curse is going to be Problematic
Imagine the social media outrage & "stories" when the original Bat was around in the early 80's. The only information most people "outside" the park gates was provided by Cincy Enquirer. Also imagine the up-to-the-minute stories (for when social media was still barely crawling) surrounding SoB & TR:tR. A massive percentage of comments surrounding SoB discredit injuries sustained while riding. Even more believe that SoB should have been RMC'd while not realizing RMC was barely into getting into their hybrid retrofit design in 2009.

9-year-old dies at Hersheypark Boardwalk waterpark
It has been reported on social media the victim had a seizure that resulted in the drowning. Coroner's report disputes that: https://people.com/authorities-confirm-cause-of-death-for-9-year-old-killed-in-hershey-park-wave-pool-11779588 Very sad to all those directly involved.

Siren’s Curse is going to be Problematic
Family just came back from Disney where numerous rides (Cosmic Rewind, Slinky, Rise of Resistance, Tiana's, Space Mountain, Rock-n-Rollercoaster) had extended down time on multiple days up to full day closures. An apology letter was on the Disney app about the full day downtime for both Cosmic Rewind & Slinky. Ride downtime is not an issue for Cedar Point/ SF.

TT2 at Cedar Point to be ready for opening day 2025
A couple of the Saturdays during Halloweekends and especially the entire Columbus day weekend, are some of the busiest weekends of the year for CP- to the point: park nears or hits capacity, the park runs out of food, the overflow parking lot is used etc. Of course, it's weather pending.

14 Year Old Boy Killed on Orlando Free Fall Ride
This place needs to be shut down immediately for having zero integrity when it comes to guest safety.

An apparent “leak” suggesting Kingda Ka is getting the axe
I always laugh when social media thoosies try to downplay fantastic multimillion dollar attractions and define them as "lackluster" due to some deep state conspiracy theory. I always like to point in the direction of the Paramount additions prior to CF's purchase. If the line-up of DB, Banshee, MT, Orion is "lackluster", how are Bat (which could be argued was already planned prior to Paramount's acquisition), FoF, Invertigo, BLSC defined?

An apparent “leak” suggesting Kingda Ka is getting the axe
Marcus Leshock is part of the media- the same media that rarely produces accurate ride information. We also know how parks love to pump up the volume in anticipation when it comes to rides. That being said, until the permits are submitted for KK complete removal like the removal permits were submitted for Green Lantern, the entire ride removal is in question. Note the "modern advancements" in the provided statements.

An apparent “leak” suggesting Kingda Ka is getting the axe
Before social media, any ride announcement may have had a press conference with local media & ACE. Most of the masses found out when the new park brochures were available at AAA. Just like TTD, KK is retired as we know it and will evolve into something that will add to the ride experience- hopefully with better results than TT2 experienced this year. That does leave the question and starts to close the loop on another- who is modifying KK? and.... given the KK project is a go does that ease the minds of those who believed TT2 would never ride again? I cannot imagine the decision & investment would be made for KK if there are still uncertainties on TT2.

An apparent “leak” suggesting Kingda Ka is getting the axe
^ Fair enough. I was thinking more popularity of the legacy & impact on the amusement industry not necessarily just the popularity at the park.

An apparent “leak” suggesting Kingda Ka is getting the axe
Ouch! You consider Beast & KK to be on same level??

Hot Chocolate Issues
Guest behavior & accountability anywhere is at an all-time low. Too many have the "you can't tell me what to do" attitude. The other issue is when a guest is told "no" they have a literal temper tantrum. I cannot hold an employee/ non-security staff member responsible for the reaction a guest has when telling said guest that a drink needs to be finished before riding. The employee did their job. Guests that cannot behave properly, follow safety rules etc. should be removed & possibly banned from the park. All parks/ places in customer service industry need to start a zero-tolerance policy. The majority of the guests witnessing the outbursts will applaud and respect the decision.

Hot Chocolate Issues
Let's face it, this is issue is not just about hot chocolate. The meal/ drink plans across all the CF parks have zero consistency. Guests paid for something they are not getting in return and the reasoning given muddies the water even more. This has been an issue for a number of years and should have been addressed by now. Due to inadequate training by the park, I do feel for the employee that has to tell a guest "no" and then gets the brunt of the frustration.

- Banshee Train Incident 9/28/24
Working on any ride under normal operations is one thing, knowing the design of the panels and what it can/ can't do when it is not under normal operations as well as not being present when the accident happened is another. What needs to be considered was the state of the ride prior to the accident- which will come out as the investigation continues.- Banshee Train Incident 9/28/24
^ I have unfortunately been part of many accident investigations and have learned that during the initial stages of the investigation. no root cause can be eliminated. What needs to be done is try & repeat the actions prior to the accident. I believe both the park along with B&M will try to replicate it and conduct numerous interviews with all staff.- Banshee Train Incident 9/28/24
You can guarantee that statement?- Banshee Train Incident 9/28/24
Valravn had a collision in 2019. Makes me wonder if it is a B&M block issue, wet track issue or some type of operator issue. Glad to hear the accident was not serious enough to cause injuries.- Kings Island Yearly Attendance Since 1972
It would be interesting to see other seasonal park's attendance data % compared to each other. Due to amount of operating days varying from park to park, the % increases/ decreases by year would be more "telling". CP Dollywood Hershey BGW- 2025 All Park Passport may be a worst case scenario
