  1. Yes you have to raise 50 dollars by Monday in order to participate in the event this is for each person in your family if they signed up also. Dear Donnie, Thank you for registering for Give Kids The World’s Coasting For Kids event at your local Cedar Fair amusement park! Your efforts will help give a dream vacation to children who need it most. We’re getting closer to the event and look forward to seeing you on Thursday, July 29. Here are a couple of reminders-- A minimum of $50 must be raised or donated by Noon (EST) on Monday, July 26 in order to participate. Complimentary park admission, event t-shirt, meal and rights to partake in the coaster marathon will only be given to those raising the minimum $50 by the cut-off date. Many of you have not yet reached the $50 minimum, so be sure to rally your friends, family and co-workers to sponsor you. If you have collected offline donations, please be sure to manually enter them on your FirstGiving fundraising page in order to get them counted towards your fundraising total. Offline donations must be brought to the park on the day of the event, with checks made out to Give Kids The World (no cash, please). Prizes will be awarded to the top three fundraisers at each park – first and second place prizes vary by park and third place fundraisers will receive a GKTW duffel bag with GKTW merchandise. Anyone raising $100 or more will receive a GKTW beverage cooler. Fundraising totals determining prize winners will be pulled at Noon (EST) on Wednesday, July 28. If you haven’t sent us your preferred t-shirt size, please request your size by emailing karad@gktw.org as soon as possible. Thank you again for your support and happy coasting! 3. That wouldn't be a nice thing to do. That would be no better than him posting it.

  5. Exactly! Yes kids and teens are the future but there can be no future without the NOW. There is so much more that could be done to appeal to the older generation. That older generation is who funnels money down to the teens. My parents who attend KI pretty much once a week do not go to ride the rides but to shop, eat and watch shows. They said to me anymore its all about the coasters and that does not appeal to them.
  6. Why is it on FH you have to get a locker. Is there a reason they do not have cubbies? For me, I always have a bag with me and sometimes by myself so I must pay 2 bucks to ride it. It is not worth 2 bucks to me for the fact the wait times and chances are it will break down before I get to ride.
  7. Last time I was at the park I was told by the ride op that I had to get a locker, I said I would leave it in the cubbie and he said I could not. So I never rode. Now I know you can leave it in a cubbie changes things.
  8. You would be surprised who reads these forums

Finally got it dubbed to dvd however i have to burn it to another format to post, it. I am attempting this as we speak.
  12. I can not even count how many times I have been to KI since the 70's, I mean thousands of times no joke and always remember rides being down, I do not think it is anymore now then before with previous owners.
  13. One thing still great about the ride is the name, CRYPT! At least they got that right cause we all know what a crypt is It is headed in that direction.
  14. I think CF does a good job at keeping them up but please remember rides are like anything mechanical. They are getting older. As your car ages it demands more and more work such as these rides do. It would be ideal to have a spare part for every ride in storage but that is not likely to happen cause of cost factors and availability. As I have said in other threads I think Paramount did a better job at the park business but then again that is my opinion and mine only.
  15. The canopy is a good thing, I would imagine it would get steamy up there in the direct sun light
  16. I am finding it difficult to raise money for this people want to donate a buck or two and that is fine but I came up with a new plan and seemed to get more responses to it with the ability to raise more money. I am having people give me a dollar for every time I ride The Racer that day. kinda like when I was little in school we always did the March of Dimes walks where they gave you so much per mile you walked. So I will ride The Racer as many times possible, I imagine I will need a few weeks to recoop after that day...lol
  17. It is really hard to tell what you are looking at from such a distance, however I can see my subdivision

I am sure there is no law saying you can not, there was a thread about this sorta in wireless. I say go for it.
  19. They were looking for a single nail. There is one nail that if pulled collapses the whole ride. That is my story and I am sticking to it.
  20. To be frank here if they tear it down they will not redesign it and rebuild it.

Through out the years Kings Island had what was called "Summer Showcase". They used to have what was called mental day for the entertainment dept. After 5 shows a day over and over you can imagine how monotonous the season became. Mental health day was the only day the show went dark. So to relieve stress we had summer showcase. It was a private event by invite only to family and friends. These were so much fun and started at 10:00pm. The total length of the tape goes for about 2 hours and I have yet to convert it over to DVD. I will do this today. Entertainment Tonight was the current show in Paramount Theater at the time so the bit I was in was a spoof of that. Was a great night and I will post the video here. If you saw the show this clip will be the "Romance" segment of the show. It was a blast.
