I still listen to that Republica record to this day. It is amazing from start to finish. One of the best techno-rock albums of all time IMO.

Thanks for the reply. Can't wait to visit KI again, but if I'm choosing a Halloween event I think Orlando is my bucket list.

I didn't read through 15 pages, but I was just wondering where KI's haunt compares to all the other themes parks in the grand scheme of things. Is it a top 5 or 10 in your opinion? I've been watching tons of Halloween events at theme parks on youtube and Universal Studios Orlando and Busch Gardens Tampa look absolutely incredible. Anybody been? What other haunts have you been to and how do they rate against KI?

That is one neat log ride. Never been to Knots Berry before.

I like the idea of lights in the trees as well. I think another cool idea would be glowing eyes in the trees. The way animals look at night in the woods.

Nobody still really answered my question. How many coasters do they actually tell you to remove your hat on? It used to be zero. I already knew they did on drop zone. Last time I was at KI was 2010 or so and I wore my hat on every coaster.

What's the law with baseball caps these days? I always used to turn my hat around backwards on coasters, but I think they made me take it off on Drop Zone. I've never once came close to losing a cap with it turned around backwards.

Those construction guys are currently climbing around that 100 ft. hill like monkeys. Please tell me they have some kind of tether up there.

I just saw a couple four legged critters walking around the construction site right before dark. Couldn't tell if they were dogs or deer or something else. Even the animals are curious about Mystic Timbers. haha!

Count each "square" as 6 feet from the bottom going up to the top and I would say the hill is at the apex right about now.(just over 100 feet) I believe the workers could stand up inside a square when they were working on the framing so that's how I came up with approximately 6 feet per square. Looking good!

Here's a current screen with DB in foreground. First hill is really getting up there.

How tall do you think the first lift hill is right now? I'm guessing somewhere around 70 feet.

Watching this construction makes me appreciate just what KI was able to accomplish when they built The Beast. I mean....these guys work on coasters all the time and have it down to a science, where KI used "in house" guys and wooden coaster construction was still in its infancy. Amazing what they did back then.

I hear ya. I currently go to a music forum to discuss politics and it gets downright ugly in there. I've been a member for a long time, but don't frequent often in the last few years, so the supposed "big shot" posters in the chain of command get p***** of you challenge their views. I had to block two of them. Ironically, one of them works for the Russian govt. who is currently waging strategic political warfare against the US and trying to undermine our democracy system. haha! You can't make this stuff up.

Why no cryptic hints for this announcement? That leads me to believe this won't be as big a scale as Mystic Timbers.(obviously... haha) With 3 water rides, my wish of a huge log flume or boat ride isn't likely anyway:(
