  1. Seems like I am one of the few true coaster nerds that really enjoy Orion for what it is. Ha! Just kidding. It's no Fury 325, and is on the shorter side of overall length, but it I love that first drop, fun elements and tons of speed. It's a great combo with Diamondback's airtime and repeating big hills. And it is very re-ridable for most everyone. I can marathon both easily which is nice. I think we are lucky to have it at our home park. Now just we need a really amazing install in The Vortex old spot...it's just so empty back there without it.
  2. The main Winterfest sign at the front of the park. The other part of the post was to jab at the doomers on the Facebook groups who always speak ill of the park or say that Six Flags will ruin it.
  3. If there is anything left proper in this forsaken pile of a land, this suit will fail miserably. This is why there needs to be a penalty put in place of 10x requested damages if a suit like this is filed and the plaintiff loses. My thoughts, wont change them, dont try.
  4. I wonder if the flying coasters in general will start to be phased out in the distant future. I hear they’re one of the more expensive B&Ms to operate and maintain because of the upright to vertical mechanics.
  5. If they were to alter the ride as it currently stands, I would make it 100% thematic. Make the show building a must walkthrough. Sometimes, attendants have non-fastlane riders bypass the show building entirely before heading up the stairs which I’m not a fan of. It adds to the theme and everyone should have to go through it. Add the IMAScore soundtrack in the station. Add lift-hill audio featuring either the IMAScore soundtrack, instructions from the “Captain” or something in between. Have audio on the final break run with the IMAScore soundtrack and/or audio encouraging riders to come back. This wouldn’t cost them anything but would add more theming and make the experience more immersive and memorable.
  6. Six Flags Mexico is opening the Speedway Stunt Coaster later this month. Linked below is a news story on it and then a video from Six Flags showing off the ride. SIx Flags Mexico Family Coaster Opens This Month Six Flags Video Looks like great theming around the ride and it's interesting that this received better theming than Soap Box Racers.
  7. Looks like SFGAm is now facing a lawsuit.... Six Flags Great America Superman Lawsuit
  8. Does anybody remember how soon the Winterfest sign came down in previous years? I noticed that most of the front decorations were taken down shortly after the new year and thought they kept it up a little longer in previous years. If this is sooner than before it will be good fuel for the doomers who think we'll be seeing "Six Flags Kings Island" (or even just a new sign or logo) this year.
  9. I'd rather they keep Soak City included for Gold and Prestige passes and bring back the Silver Pass with a different set of limitations. Make it separate admission for day tickets and Silver Passes while increasing the price of Gold and Prestige. An all-season Silver Pass with blackout dates (instead of ending after Labor Day) would probably also get more people to buy it. Having one of the only large-ish waterparks in the area should be a bigger selling point, but it's probably not as marketable as I think. Kings Island used to advertise itself as the largest amusement and water park in the Midwest but now where other Six Flags parks have something like "The Carolinas' Premier Entertainment Destination" Kings Island's website simply says "Kings Island".
  10. That’s a fair point- I’m sure there are quite a few rides that *could* be enclosed or covered. Cargo Loco Monster Scrambler Great Pumpkin Coaster (I pitched this idea on a different thread)
  11. there is a crane-style cable lift built into the ceiling of the building. I dont believe you would be able to get a crane inside
  12. There is a custom soundtrack in the bowl, they just need OBA or way better speakers throughout the entire run to hear it better. Its actually a specific track that starts at launch and runs all the way to the final station.
  13. I think they could (and should) do both increase pass prices a bit AND make the water park a second gate that could be a nominal charge add-on for season passholders across all tiers.
  14. It would definitely need a more decorative building but I would put something over Cargo Loco before Monster. I do think the park needs more sheltered/indoor rides
  15. John Reilly is now officially CEO of the Six Flags Entertainment Corporation. I'm curious to see if any (relatively) immediate changes come through compared to what happened right after the merger around this time last year. The release of some parks' operating calendars yesterday is certainly different, even if was in the works under Richard Zimmerman's tenure.
  16. The lights are still in place and operating in the fountain along with the pyro:
