  1. The lights are still in place and operating in the fountain along with the pyro:
  2. Hey shout out to the Banshee crew last night-they were crushing it! Super fast operations and just a station wait. They ops were so fast, that we got the slow chain going up the lift hill because the train in front hadn't cleared the break run yet! Actually, all the lines were super short last night and the only thing we waited for was The Beast (about 15 minutes). Overall a good visit, but it was SUPER cold especially when the wind blew. I can definitely see them dropping the Thursday Haunts next year, because there weren't a lot of people there last night, not have there been on Thursdays.
  3. I wonder if they will move the ice carver to the new pavilion. With the potential for a downsized Winterfest this would make a good second location. Although, if the event maintains its size or is expanded this will be a great spot to have another show. I think the stretched covers have to be removed once it starts snowing though.
  4. There’s a few in there that made a comeback this year. The Darkest Day from Independence Day, Main Title from A Nightmare on Elm Street, and a couple of others I can’t remember off the top of my head.
  5. New (or at least new to me) rigging in the carousel pavilion, presumably for WinterFest?
  6. There might still be a decent amount of people in the park, just spread throughout it. The maze upcharge definitely helps the numbers too. I think they should keep Thursday Haunts at Kings Island.
  7. Up here at CP they have had Thursday's for the past 3 years or so. They keep doing them up here even with very light crowds. That would signal to me the keeping them at KI. Up here with the wind and low park attendance the only coasters running were Maverick, Corkscrew, Iron Dragon and Mine Ride. Decent line for Conjuring but no other out or indoor scarezones/mazes were open. 12 Rv's, 6 cabins and only about 50 cars in the parking lot for Breakers this am. Should be a good day.
  8. I haven't been noticing the music too much this year, but I do remember wishing there were some older songs mixed in there. There are some specific tracks that used to play every night (I can't remember what they were called) that I think suited the event very well.
  9. Mamba closed at Worlds of Fun due to safety violations: lds-of-fun-roller-coaster-temporarily-shut-down-due-to-safety-violations/?fbclid=IwdGRleANw2ktleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHt6E46pgxlh5y2EmJBYubHTAQg0CswKy54CG2vBNwcrG0Vy-1uArCCJgdbSf_aem_kBdgNuh2SoTMasC369htog
  10. I feel like discussing something that hasn't been discussed in this forum as far as I know: the music. I actually went to Cedar Point last month (it's a long story, and I wanted my TT2 and SC rides). When I was there, I got curious about the music and used Google to identify tracks. With the exception of the intro, which used a remix of Crazy Train, I found that most of the music came from Midnight Syndicate. I researched them, and found that their music was often used across major amusement park chains, and that there were times that the duo performed live at Cedar Point. (BTW, I opted not to go to the Conjuring thing there). My parents decided to go with me last weekend to the KI Haunt. It seemed like the music there was quite different, with more traditional songs. The fountain played instrumental music, but my app indicated a different source: Rok Nardin. Some tracks included Rumbling, Apocalypse, and Destroyer of Worlds (the first two seem to be inspired by Attack on Titan). I've been building a Halloween playlist on Spotify, and both Midnight Syndicate and Rok Nardin are part of it. Have you heard any other notable Halloween music at Kings Island? (BTW, we did do the Conjuring there, and I ended up carrying Annabelle)
  11. You'd think they could play carnival music in Coney Mall during Tricks and Treats. I'd support the move but it does need to have at least 4 hours of music on it.
  12. I mean they already play patriotic music in Coney Mall during Tricks and Treats. Maybe they could just move that playlist over to I street and call it a day! I'd take that over the jazz 100%
  13. I'd welcome the orchestral music back in full force any day. I wonder if there's any chance the park would play instrumental patriotic music (like they have on Main Street 1776 at SFA) next year for the Quarter Millennial? Major props as well if they can figure out how to put more than 10 songs on a playlist that's supposed to play on repeat for 12-14 hours.
