  1. I’d settle for a few pictures of a gutted building. Just fascinated by this stuff. Couldn’t be more excited!
  2. I'd assume the demolition process is easy, especially if they aren't saving the sets. Some figures might be sent back to SDR for the next Boo Blasters (send that stuff to Cedar Point after a refurbishment) while the others could probably get scrapped. Unless they only have one small team working on it I think it should go somewhat quickly.
  3. Agree - for the life of me I don't understand why some' people keep beating the "parking lot entry coaster" idea. It really only make sense at CP for me. I think it was a miss at Carrowinds as they ruined the "local charm" of the park when they removed the plantation house entrance. We need a "classic styled", yet extreme coaster in The Vortex plot - ideally that crosses over to the area behind the tower with the 360 loop aligned with the tower to create a perfect image from the entrance. I'd love it to be "styled like a wood" like Incredicoaster is at Disneyland Ca Adv. and then add a flat or two to that area to create "Carousel Park" with a European "tivoli gardens" feel
  4. I feel that, I haven't had such anticipation for a ride since Mystic Timbers.
  5. All these speculations on what is going on with the old Vortex land... meanwhile we all know deep down its going to be another Coca-Cola refresh station!
  6. Hopefully we will see someone updates soon, I’m getting antsy
  7. The AI intros and thumbnails feel disgenuine and a cheap slap in the face to its most loyal fans. We came to watch Don, stayed for Ryan, and this is where the show is heading? Genuinely makes me mad to see them cheap out with this garbage. They had a good thing going and threw it all away. Sucking the soul right out of it. If they keep this up I will not be watching.
  8. Closest we might get: https://dafe.org/articles/darkrides/phantomPharewell.html Ha!
  9. Random Phantom thought number 6 probably: When will the ride actually be completed inside? From my understanding, the original PT was still being worked on until the very last minute before the season opening. Scooby Doo had the inside completed around January, but Phantom closed in July as opposed to September, but also I don’t believe they had Winterfest at that time so that could’ve sped construction up (?) I assume anything from Boo Blasters is out at this point, but I wonder if possibly any phantom stuff is inside the building (or if they rush construction on that in the weeks between Winterfest or vice versa, the outdoor parts of Boo Blasters are removed during that time.
  10. Not saying what im about to say cause Don and Ryan are good friends of mine. BUT look around man. AI is "taking over". If you use it the right way its not trash. The whole point of them using AI is using it as a tool to help improve something. You also gotta get with the times. When it comes down to it what are you here for. The AI enhancements or the news that they STILL provide us about Ki and other parks. IMO nothing has changed. Things get better over time. I applaud them for using AI, as its everywhere now. hope you keep on keepin on and @DonHelbig and @BoddaH1994 keep up the great work!
  11. The park being clean and well-maintained is a bare minimum expectation, though, not something that new additions should be getting sacrificed for.

  13. The typical enthusiast always wants additions. As a life-long patron I'll take these changes in lieu of "additions": - cleaner parks overall: bathrooms, midways, queue line etc. - fresh coat of paint on/ inside buildings - better maintained rides - stores/ venues/ rides that are always open when the park is open. (while adequate staffing is difficult, closed stores. venues give off a barely functioning feeling for our family). - park theming & music - more shows I would love to see KI return to the late 70's/ early 80's vibe. It was an experience for our once a year trip. Going to the park often now does give the "it's always like that" justification- which isn't right for those who still only go a limited amount of times.
  14. AlpenFury also only has two trains and was designed specifically for Canada's Wonderland. I think Siren's Curse has more than 12 riders per train.
  15. Personally, I like Fury and GateKeeper over the entrance to those respective parks. Both are stunning in those spots. I don't want that for KI though. I think maybe a refresh on the entrance building perhaps, but I love walking through and seeing the fountains and tower unfold as it has been since the park opened. I would much rather see an amazing coaster installed into The Vortex's old site. It feels barren along that walkway from Rivertown to Coney without a major coaster in the spot. And of course, without my beloved Flying Eagles also. I'm old enough to have ridden the original Bat and Vortex. So, to me, that is sacred coaster ground. My personal wish is for something along the lines of Maverick or next gen version of a multi launch, or a ground-up RMC (one can wish).
  16. Former Cedar Fair CEO Matt Ouimet shares candid insights on leadership, boards, and tough lessons from Cedar Fair — plus his thoughts on Six Flags. A must-read for theme park fans and anyone interested in corporate leadership. http://sanduskyregister.com/go/67e5e1d4bbcff
  17. That’s a two way street bub.
  18. God I love your optimism Don. Let me point out the key word in my original post in case you missed it… “hope.” Not happening? Probably, maybe, who knows? But please don’t negate my sentiments or wishes for KI.
  19. Probably similar to the pre-k pass being offered at only certain parks, at the parks not offering the mazes with admission, they are hurting for attendance. Here is a screenshot:
  20. The other "big" parks like Cedar Point, Carowinds, and Canada's Wonderland appear to be keeping the Haunted Attraction Pass as well.
  21. Noticed this as well. Also made me realize apparently we're one of the only CF parks still charging $15 on weekends for the maze pass, or charging $35-$40 for the Conjuring. I assume this means the add-ons are selling better at KI compared to most other parks. The legacy SF parks on the other hand are still charging $25-$35, but also they've been charging for longer so makes sense that the guests are more used to it.
  22. Notably the only four parks in the chain to do so. It seems they still need to work out some flaws in the implementation and marketing. Either that or we won't be seeing mazes (updated or otherwise) at these parks next year.
  23. The official websites for Kings Dominion, Dorney Park, Valleyfair, and Worlds of Fun have banners stating that haunted attractions will be included in admission for the remainder of the Haunt season.
  24. I went on Thursday night and it appeared to be a lot more crowded than last week, but everything still listed as having low wait times. It also looked like a ton of people were taking advantage of the low wait times for the mazes as well. TC:BF didn't have too long of a wait, but I also only saw it right after the sun went down. If anyone is looking for the skeleton banjo duo they are on top of the Rivertown Refresh Station. They seemed to be playing continually instead of being a lantern interaction. I think it's a nice location for them, I just wish they had a light on them or that something would've been done to make them more visible. Maybe putting them on top of something might've also helped. Not to already look toward next year (if the company makes it that long... jk... unless) but part of me hopes they move TC:BF into Action Theater like it is at Carowinds or put it somewhere else. My issue isn't that it's currently in a bad location — in fact it's in a great spot — I just wish KI could find a better use for that space. The new Mullins Workshop Bar also doesn't help my feelings on the matter. It's better than nothing, but I don't think they needed another bar in Rivertown. I don't know how I'm just now noticing this but without Vortex the back of the park seems kind of dead during Haunt (aside from The Beast) and really just acts as a connection point. I guess I'd never have normally spent so much time back there.
