  1. You know he’s telling the truth.
  2. This is how it looks for brands when your social media person isn’t far removed from their last group project being for extra credit.
  3. I really love seeing that they are doing a little extra TLC for the ride! That pad has had faded paint for as long as I can remember. Seeing this little extra attention and care is a beautiful thing. These kinds of rides are already a nearly extinct experience. Seeing KI go the extra mile to take care of and spruce up this piece of history is awesome. Although nowadays I struggle to ride these kinds of rides, I will make an exception whenever this reopens as a thank you to the hard work the park has put into getting this thing operating at optimal specs again.
  4. I like the idea of the Monster cars being a different color, so long as the "tentacles" and ride body retain their menacing jet black color. Monster was one of my Aunt's favorite rides at Old Coney and in Kings Island6 early years. She passed away in 2020, but luckily I got to ride it once with her that summer season. With what seems like a major overhaul of the ride, I'm hopeful that the ride will be back next season since the ride holds a special place. When Shake Rattle & Roll was refurbished 2014 - 2015, it was taken off site. Was the refurbishment done in house at the park or was it shipped off to Germany to HUSS? How extensive is the overhaul of Monster? Will all six arms be strong enough to carry the weight, or will they still only load four? My prediction back in April was that Premier Rides may have won a bid to refurbish the ride with their background in this style of work (think Kangaroo at Kennywood) and Six Flags' partnership with them on AlpenFury at Canada's Wonderland. I guess time will tell to see what happens with this beloved flat ride.
  5. As someone who often has doubts, this was exactly what I thought when I first read that comment. The person asking the question would've had every right to say, "Oh, that didn't really answer any part of my question in a meaningful way". It feels bad to see that they don't have anyone more experienced (nearby) working above to guide these younger social media folks.
  6. As much as we joke about it, I wouldn't entirely be opposed to seeing the cars be painted like m&m's (the colors, no logos please). Cedar Point's Monster is painted in some awfully garish colors and has little faces on it, and I think it would not be good to see that look come to KI's version. I'd love to see any pictures of it from its Coney Island days to find out if it was all black back then. If it were up to me I'd go with either all black or black with colorful cars!
  7. I love to see the bright colors on the pad. I think even if it doesn't come back this season that Kings Island is going to try and do this project right. Monster is such a classic and I think they know it still has its fan. Out of curiosity, with the new colors on the pad, does anyone think they will repaint it any color besides black? I know black is the classic color for the model but I'm just curious if maybe it'll change...other rides on Coney Mall such as the scrambler and troika have gotten new paint colors through the years... Even racer got spruced up a few years ago... If they do decide to go with a different color, what color scheme do you all want to see?
  8. The sad thing is that Cedar Fair was always TERRIBLE about creating programs and benefits that all have different rules and restrictions (like the old gold pass perks that were like "get 10% off a Cinnabon between 4pm-4:30pm on odd numbered days of even numbered months), then not explaining it to the front line associates or telling them when anything changed. When I worked at the park, we often found out about changes because guests would ask us about them, and we'd look foolish because no one had told us that anything had changed. Six Flags has always been better in this regard. Things were clearly stated, and when they weren't, there never seemed to be an issue getting an answer. It's sad that now the whole company behaves like Cedar Fair, except with the added wrinkle of them not caring about your experience whatsoever once they have your money.
  9. It actually isn't professional though to use that sort of wording as it instills doubt in the reader that the resource responding isn't even entirely certain of the process. In my line of work, when I write up a report, I cannot use those kinds of words nor can I use wording like "I feel" or "I think". I have to stick to the facts and use only what has been heard, observed and experienced upon contact and whatever information is relayed to me when writing up a report. Using anything but the facts would not hold water or up in court if taken all the way there. Granted, my example is a lot more serious, the sentiment still stands that this isn't a good look or a good way to communicate protocol to a customer as this doesn't scream confidence in knowing your product and how it works. I fear that this is going to be the way for the foreseeable future. There have just been so many changes and shifts in passes, processes and what not that there doesn't seem to be any unified understanding. I really hope this doesn't remain the norm. I want to see each park thrive within themselves and their staff to also thrive and be confident in their product. It can only mean success and satisfaction for all.
  10. I don't enjoy nitpicking things that the park does, but things like this make me wonder what is going on behind the scenes. The phrase "I believe" really shouldn't be something they write in a comment like this (in my opinion). It almost reads as a hostile comment to me. A better way to put it might be: "Go to [activation URL] and log in, then follow the steps defined on your Season Pass order voucher to activate your 2026 Gold Pass". An even better comment would have been: "Go to [activation URL] and log in using your Kings Island account information. Then, follow the steps defined on your Season Pass order voucher to activate your 2026 Gold Pass. If you would like any additional help, please email [Six Flags helpline email address] and an associate will assist you further". I won't say it's necessarily a bad thing when someone comments in an informal manner using an official account, but this just feels bad. The first rewrite takes almost zero additional effort compared to what was published, and the second one goes a step further by including the helpline email.
  11. You are correct sorry if I worded that poorly - I meant that family owned parks close for reasons other than corporate greed or profit driven decisions. ZDTs wasn't a victim of a large cooperation it was simply another factor such as the family wanting to retire and not finding a buyer. Some family parks can't survive hard financial times or other things happen like big competition moves in etc. My comment was only to encourage folks to value and visit their mid size and family owned parks because they might not be there 10-25 years down the road
  12. That guy DID look a lot like the bouncer from last week. I thought it was just me. Wait, it was me. Now I'm just confused... But seriously, I loved working the motorcycle room on Friday. I got a lot of good scares in there that night. I laughed when I had a girl go through who said to her friend "I thought that was the bouncer..." I guess you just never know where we'll pop up! Good to see you enjoyed yourself once again!
