  1. They have never, in my memory, listed any reason for delays other than "waiting on a part." They would risk alienating their customer base with political inferences, which they don't need. As far as the bankruptcy, I personally don't see why in the world the federal government would take partial ownership in six flags as they did the two automotive companies. Much much smaller industry and much less of a full time, benefited union type employment base.
  2. The signs of fall at the park are officially here! While at the park today, we noticed Haunt mazes being constructed, which means we're getting close to that time of year filled with Friday night lights, pumpkin spice everything, and amazing autumnal fun at Kings Island! The Haunt season is already building on our forums, but let's shift gears for a moment. We're starting a new discussion all about the daytime family fun: Tricks & Treats!
  3. Dirt cheap compared to the fright lane passes of old...
  4. I didn't really think about the part where they'd take partial ownership, which as you said doesn't make a lot of sense. My understanding about the automotive industry bailouts is still coming into focus (even though it's been almost 20 years). Thank you for reminding me about that. Alienating sections of the customer base would indeed also be bad. I will mention the fact that (IIRC) Kings Dominion only gave "finishing our theming efforts" for Pantherian. Six Flags is going to be in some trouble when they officially announce that they've cancelled a number of their previously promised 2026 additions, so hopefully they will do some actual work to offset that.
  5. I was listening to the Disney Dish and they spoke about tariffs impacting Disney. Basically they said it could delay or stop a ton of future plans if things have not already been purchased. -company gives park a price -tariffs hit -company states the old price is off -company asks suppliers for all new prices -company gets new cost and sends it to park -park approves then tariffs change again basically they said everytime a tariff changes that process has to change as well.
  6. Ouch. People weren't buying their optimistic phrases....
  7. I believe the difference would be that Fast Lane and the Express Pass are now completely separate, unlike previous years when Fright Lane + Fast Lane were combined into one pass at a lot of parks. This is looking like a good way to generate more revenue while cutting down on the number of people who use both the Fast Lane and (now) Express Pass lines on any individual night.
  8. TBH those people who anticipated a drop track without any physical evidence (especially overtop of the train track) set themselves up for disappointment. A drop track would have been cool, but not once in my mind did I think it was going to happen.
  9. It's hard to get a full benefit from the 2025 capex when the addition doesn't open until mid July.
  10. They've also cancelled several Oktoberfest events this year.
  11. Tricks and Treats is cool and all, but I really wish KI would do an Oktoberfest event in the Festhaus area. Other parks in the chain do it and Cincy area has a lot of German roots so it would fit so well here. Also Carowinds does a Tricks and Treats parade. I think it would be cool if KI does that too,
  12. I'm waiting until after I visit Cedar Point in a couple of weeks, just in case the 2025 all-season addons don't work at other parks after renewal.
  13. According to a poster between the Kings Island Theater and the newest refresh station, Kings Island's Halloween Haunt is now presented by Snickers. While no sponsor is currently listed for the event on the park's website, it can be believed that the event website is currently under extended revision/maintenance. There's no body text on the Haunt website right now either. As I've said before, I'm mostly fine with the sponsors and ads because they are a way to generate more money for the park. I think the logo with the sponsor looks a lot better than the Fright Fest logo with the sponsor. My main qualm would be how they go about attaching a sponsor sign to the big gravestone-esque event I.D. sign. It would be a travesty if the big sign was either heavily modified or replaced entirely just to add a sponsor's logo. Long Live the Big Sign (Photo: https://www.visitkingsisland.com/events/haunt)
  14. I’m split on this. The KI haunts and mazes were great for the kids because they were not the scariest and because of the large crowd the kids saw the scares coming. if they don’t upgrade the way they do it, it’s going to be a hard pass for me on paying to walk through a cattle call maze.
  15. I believe you can mention tariffs, it would be any political commentary after that would be a violation....
  16. Yeah I saw them taking down the Grand Carnivale sign earlier in the morning at 7:40, and putting up the Kings Island one. Here’s the pic.
  17. Well, this is that sad time of the year when looking at the park's calendar you start seeing the 'Closed' dates. Makes me wonder if we will see more 'Closed' dates next year or more 10am-8pm dates throughout May/June/July. Maybe even no dates for April. Hope not, but we will see.
