  1. With the start of the 2025 season two weeks away, let's hope the information is coming soon!
  2. I think I've addressed this before, but I feel that the Eiffel Tower is our front gate coaster and to put anything else in front of it would ruin the skyline. I think what really makes it special is when you walk in and the Eiffel Tower is the main focus for your eyes not a coaster. What I like is no coaster obstructs that view. All the coaster are around the centerpiece of the park and If you get rid of Invertigo I guess you could put something in the front, but I would want it to be something close to the ground so it does not obstruct the site lines of the tower.
  3. Sorry, lots going on at work this morning. Fixed the typo. But that opportunity was too good to let it "slide" by!
  4. Documents have been submitted (for a while, just never went to look again) and it looks like they're basically doing a whole renovation from top to bottom. There will be a new HVAC system which will be nice on those hot days!
  5. https://qr1.be/SX1M
  6. Probably would go to the skyflyer area to see what if any activity is going on to warrant a Decoding 2026 thread lol.
  7. Will there be a running of the bulls to be the first guest to use the new restrooms in Rivertown?
  8. Ok, who ate too much Skyline this morning?
  9. I hope that if/when they fully redesign the entrance plaza, they either add a bridge from the ticket windows to that side of the parking lot (similar to what Carowinds has) or complete a massive project that would make the entrance more like Canada's Wonderland or Kings Dominion (1-2 central sets of scanners with an exit on either side of the plaza). For this redo I just hope they put up some signage directing guests into each line. That and some retractable fencing dividing the turnstile lines during busy times would be awesome. Nobody wants to wait through a line only to find out that they should've been in a different line because they have a bag or a stroller or something like that. Side note: I think if Kings Island really feels the need to build their own version of GateKeeper, they would find it best to rebuild their entrance/security plaza to be more like Canada's Wonderland has with Leviathan. It's been noted that the offices and warehouses likely prevent any coaster from going over them, so having it curve onto a small "island" in the middle of the center walkway would give the same effect while providing an excuse to do a full security plaza update.
  10. Looks like the 3 cell towers in/around the park are getting upgraded...$30,000 job value for each tower.
  11. I find it amusing that they turned on the I street cam for just a moment to capture a new shot of there being no snow and a sunny day (just after the dismantling of the ice rink, they turned off the I street cam to likely block construction view progress of the new gift shop and bar). The new still shot may fool some when thinking the I street cam is on when it’s not, especially since all snow has melted from the former still shot. Note in the new I street cam shot (likely taken a few weeks ago) still shows the Winterfest sign out front and you can see all the building construction over on the right.
  12. yeah the "BIG" bathroom surprise and the main street redo....
  13. The tan dome building to the left of the "WindSeeker Restrooms" .
  14. The drawback of people outside of your home park making marketing materials. I saw this sponsored add on YouTube and thought it was a fake account. It takes you right to the KI website.
  15. Totally agree! I think the best way is to do something like AlpenFury where the turnaround is near the entrance plaza, but it doesn't go over the entrance plaza like Leviathan does. I say put the station where Skyflyer was and then have the booster launch go into the Congo falls area and that's where the main launch would be and the layout would be along the left side of the parking lot area with the turnaround right up against the sidewalk (left of Invertigo).
  16. I had a buddy that worked the original for a stint that said it was SUPER boring because nobody did it. I played for free when it was raining and she was there a couple times, and I still skipped it even when it was free. It just wasn't good. I'm thinking it didn't only fail, but it was a crash and burn. Plus, KI can't even keep the gun on Boo Blasters working. I would definitely not bet on this kind of attraction ever coming back. If it does, hopefully they commit to it and don't make it a tiny circus tent attraction again. If they are going to commit and use that much space, imho there are tons of better uses for the space.
  17. You’d have a better chance meeting Koontz hammered at one of the new bars located within the park.
  18. Looks like major work happening in the rivertown bathroom this morning. Large dumpster and about 5 maintenance vans.
  19. On the topic of landscaping and the little things, I wish the park would bring back the two planter carts that sat at the front of International Street after the 2019 renovation. They looked like the old taffy carts and added some visual interest, even when there were no flowers in them. I think installing things like those carts, some small kiosks, raised planter beds, and a few other small decorations would give the park a little more charm than it already has.
  20. That 50' platform sure has space..but ADA access is not there, and the elevators do not stop there.
  21. It all depends on who's working on the ride at a specific time. The crew last year did a decent job, but there were some times when it definitely lagged in operations. I've always said that Banshee is/should be a line eater as well as Diamondback and Orion. For those unfamiliar with the term, a "line eater" is defined as thus: Line Eater-A roller coaster or attraction that is able to "eat" a line and decrease the wait time due to high rider capacity. Examples could be Diamondback, Orion, or literally any B&M! A "line holder" is similar to a "line eater", but slightly different: Line Holder-A roller coaster or attraction that holds many people in line and is sometimes a very popular ride. It doesn't have a high capacity compared to other rides. This line sometimes takes away from the other lines, making them shorter. Examples could be Flight of Fear, Top Thrill Dragster/TT2, any type of shuttle coaster, Steel Vengeance with one or two trains, and probably Siren's Curse when it opens (these are just a few) All that said, hopefully Banshee can still be a line eater. I remember during the Haunt last year when the lines are already insane and Banshee was running one train. It was disastrous. I don't think people mind waiting in the brake run for a minute or less, but if something is wrong, those Vest Restraints make it really hard to breath and it starts getting really hot (I don't know why they used Vest Restraints on Banshee. I'd rather have the regular Over the Head). I'd prefer them to run 3 trains, but if they have to, I can live with 2.
  22. I will be interested to see if Banshee runs 2 or 3 trains this year. I think after all the issues it might be only 2 trains and a lot of the time it does end up stacking in the station so it does not really matter whether there are 2 or 3 trains.
  23. Someone must be afraid people will see activity and get excited about the park opening for passholders on April 18 and officially on April 19 and want to visit.
  24. Yeah cause they are adding the restaurant to the top of the tower
  25. I've actually never parked in The Beast parking lot area before. I always seem to end up in Racer, Banshee, Drop Tower (on VERY busy days), and Diamondback (for water park).
  26. I just want them to use all entries....how often do we arrive and the only entry lines/gates are the ones closest to Invertigo. If you park on the south side of the sign it's not very convenient to get into the line for that entry area.
  27. Yeah it's hard with the way it's designed because people exiting the park will either have to cross over the people entering to exit through the purple box or they will have to cross the crowd going towards the ticket center area (not that there are many people that actually go here, but the line can fill up during the summer).
  28. If It was me doing this, I would have went a different direction. At the top at the purple arrow, I would create a new path "above" or North of those trees. Remove the blue umbrella, and that would be the new "Express" small or no bags only line. The first red arrow would be all entry with no exits through there and would be the stroller, wagon, & accessibility entrance. Keep the top 1/2 of the path "below" or South of the circle grass area as regular entry. The paths in the purple box areas would be the dedicated exit only paths.
  29. It is. STRENGTHS: Unique, no other park in the region has an upcharge laser tag arena. Revenue generator Indoors No height requirement family friendly WEAKNESSES: Hesitant to buy in due to up charge Cost to renovate tomb raider show building to a laser tag arena staffing OPPORTUNITIES: Seasonal overlays Season pass holder discount/free with prestige (added value for passes!) Competitions ticket add on Could have celebrities that visit the park visit this attraction for marketing THREATS: Local FEC’s Video games Seems pretty bulletproof to me…
  30. Yeah, and you know what else didn’t last? Winterfest. Guess what? It came back, went away again, and then came back. Good ideas never die. Imagine SENOR KOONTZ holding up a laser blaster running around the tomb raider show building for the promo video, would be fye
  31. Nah dude. We had one....it didn't last.
  32. Imagine getting off The Vortex and then ripping some laser tag with your crew…simpler times man, simpler times…
  33. I feel like they had one years ago in the building that was demolished for Coney BBQ.
  34. I second this. The only legacy Six Flags park I've been to is Great America and I was very impressed with the theming in the queue area for Batman the Ride. I didn't get to ride Dark Knight, but I imagine the theming was good in there too. However, it does make me wonder why Batman in particular seems to get more attention in regards to theming compared to the other DC characters. Superman was pretty much just a parking lot coaster and Flash didn't really have much theming at all other than an image of him at the ride entrance. I personally wouldn't mind if we saw DC come to our park if the theming was consistent of that from what I saw of Batman at Great America, but not so much if there's not a lot of effort put into the other characters.
  35. I would also like to add to the opinion that I would be alright with any DC theming being added. Granted I've only been to one Six Flags park in SFGAdv, but I thought what they did on their DC line up was pretty decent, at least on par or in some cases better than any of CF's attempt at theming. I really dig the queues for Batman :The Ride and Dark Knight, and while I didn't get to ride it back on my first visit in 2000, I did go through the queue of Batman and Robin: The Chiller and was okay with that.
  36. I'm for just taking the TRTR box down and doing something more akin to Rivertown there like a decent water ride or a flat ride.
  37. TRTR is one of the reasons that "Paramount" was a terrible operator towards their end of the stewardship of the park. Lots of $ spent, great idea, and the theme looks on point, but the ride itself was not a long term solution. It should have been built on the other side of the park where it would have loosely fit in the jungle theme of Adventure Express, and the viewshed would have been more appropriate with fof there. Kings Dominion version, while not in a box and not a giant, was much better done and area appropriate. It was a sight to behold...I wouldn't have the stomach to ride, but I enjoyed watching it in between Volcano: The Blast Coaster rides.
  38. I was talking about Action Zone. Not sure what that has to do with TR:TR. But the theme and IP were, and would still be horribly out of place. So, hopefully they won’t do that. Pretty bold claim to make without having experienced it. Cedar Fair isn’t really to blame. Huss, the ride’s manufacturer, created a faulty product that literally tore itself apart. The ride’s removal was inevitable. You should check out the Defunctland video if you haven’t. Enjoyable if you’re interested in the subject.
  39. As opposed to what’s there now? A mismatched, hodge podge collection of thematically unrelated experiences? We’d be lucky if they decided to overhaul that whole section of the park. Should they do it right.
  40. A Gotham City retheme of Action Zone would be welcome.
  41. Here's an overlay of the land that's being opened up near Frontier Town due to recent ride removals. Orange being the land left over by Snake River Falls and Frontier Fling, while purple being if they wanted to expand out towards the former Forbidden Frontier area. I do 100% believe Cedar Point already has something planned given their repeated use of the term "future expansion" and my guess is it will primarily reside in the orange area, though some of it could go out into the purple area if the park really wanted to. For what type of attraction(s) this will be or when it will open, only time will tell.
  42. FYI appears that all web cams are now inactive..... (no joke :-))
