I went to the buffet last night. One of the surprises for me is that the little cubbie booths on the very top level have been removed and that is where the buffet was laid out. It's not an awful choice for the layout, but those semi-private booths were always so cozy. It was still magical being able to sit and eat and watch the park (especially the Eiffel Tower cycling and the fountain skaters) Ok, so here's everything that was on the buffet. I'm putting it as a spoiler so that people who don't want to load this many images don't have to: I at least tried nearly everything, and it almost all ranged from good to excellent. My one disappointment was the pasta primavera- I'm not vegetarian but I have always enjoyed veggies, and I found this to be surprisingly flavorless. Maybe roasting the vegetables could have helped? The surprise hit for me was the pumpkin soup. I keep thinking about it, and wish I could have some more today. All in all, this was an experience that was definitely worth the price!

I don't see a need for any more rides being open than already are, the ride lineup is already pretty good especially for those with younger kids. Plus this let's some of the rides that don't usually get a lot of love during the summer some time to shine (looking at you Zephyr).

A real through the woods log flume! Now that WWC has been spoiled by that noisy coaster thing.

I didn't make it over until after dark so I didn't bother to take pictures, but from what I could peek through the fence it appears they have started pouring floors.

Opening that path would also allow them to open up the diner as well and help the park better allocate foot traffic across the park.

I wouldn't be surprised if more rides were added next year....to help spread out the crowds...it has been quite interesting to see the rides open having their queues overflow into the midways.

It looks as if “Harbor House” was possibly referring to the smokehouse in SC.

Well, your wish is being partially fulfilled. The week after Christmas, the park is opening an hour earlier than previously scheduled (at 4 o'clock).

Last night, when I rode Scrambler, Dodgem, and Zephyr, I appreciated my rides on them much more as I did not have to worry about deciding which of the many rides to ride next in my limited time before closing. I declared Zephyr my favorite ride on this trip. -BFF, who partook three times in Zephyr’s time to shine in an otherwise quiet Coney Mall/Elf Village.

The fee is bull****. That's what the fee is. Nothing but a way to grab extra nickels. Oh look, Kinzel's influence is still around.

I think it would be cool if they opened up the pathway from the end of Coney Mall to Rivertown as I think that would be a good area to put some lights up and walk through. Plus it would give them the opportunity to open up Shake Rattle & Roll, oh and of course 3 Point Challenge so we can have basketballs!

I just checked the property search site and when you click on memos, then general memos, "Coney Island BBQ" now shows up at the bottom. It will be interesting to see if we are getting anything else. Hopefully we get a flat or two at the other end of Coney Mall down by where Dinos entrance was.

I'm hoping for a giga on that side of the park. I don't know about specifically using the Dinos area, though. I wouldn't mind seeing it used somehow as just a walking trail.

Only issue with that is you would need to have some type of reason for it to tie back to Guardians of Galaxy other than assuming that everyone going through X-Base has watched the movie. I don't see Cedar Fair buying the rights to have anything displayed that references Guardians of Galaxy, there's a certain other park that recently made a pretty big investment in an attraction based around that movie.

But from a business perspective, more rides equals more worked to have to pay to operate those rides, which means a lower profit margin. Keep in mind, that the rides they have running during Winterfest still need to have their off season maintenance done to them. So the park essentially has three and a half months to do their off season overhaul verses five and a half, or almost half the time.

It is believed to be over 100 years old.

That's unfortunate; where was that located?

Well, I will try to get convince them to get 416 feet tall Falcon's Fury type of Drop Tower.... I rather have a great wooden coaster at Carowinds first though. This maybe more realistic although I think Hurler RMC conversion is more likely.

My wife and I were in guest services on Friday as my wife was filling out positive comment cards. We asked the girl working about a 2018 announcement and she said the announcement would be made on December 30 so we should get confirmation soon.

I would love to see Cedar Fair acquire Busch Garden Tampa. Florida is missing some big time thrill rides. They have a few but nothing like what's in the Cedar Fair chain. The Florida market is some top competition for sure, but I believe Cedar Fair could hold their own in Tampa.
