I'm not gonna pretend to be a mod (because God knows I do not have the filter for it) but another SoB topic? The "Son of Beast roller coaster to be removed" topic is more than adequate for this isolated question. Starting a topic just for the sake of starting a topic gets too messy in the forum world.

And if it doesn't, in the future the past will be edited to comport with the present.

These people are nuts: If these people would have taken advantage of this promotion last year, wouldn't they already have 2012 season passes?

Wow Six Flags knows how to make an announcement. They really blew Cedar Point's fumbling around in the rain announcement of Gate Keeper. I like John Hildebrandt but he should never be in front of a camera making an announcement unless there has been a terrible accident.

Far be it from me to defend the gentleman, but he DID say 2o14, not next season.

My money's on Iron Rattler or Full Throttle, both of which, despite my slight distaste for their names, exceeded my expectations. I'm sure I'm underestimating it, but Outlaw Run just isn't getting me all hyped up. It looks like a good ride, yes, but I'm not frothing at the mouth over it and putting down Iron Rattler in comparison like people on several enthusiast sites. It's probably got something to do with my qualms on how they're classifying/marketing OR, but that's for another topic. Still, like Browntggrr, I have yet to ride any of them and do lack Doc Brown's DeLorean, so I couldn't tell you which one will be the best. Still looks like a great year is coming up, and I'm glad to see California's Great America finally receiving a new coaster--and an impressive-looking GCI, at that.

I'm a little bias, but I think the #Gatekeeper launch across platforms was better executed" Better executed? Was she not informed Gatekeeper was leaked the day before? I don't understand how some one could think Gatekeepers announcement was better than what Six Flags did. For God's sake, one of the higher ups called Gatekeeper WindSeeker during the announcement.

I blackout on almost every coaster I get on. It really isn't a big deal.

^ I'd actually very much be in favor of them revamping the small stage between the Eiffel Tower and the fountains into a Luminosity-esque stage, though definitely without the back wall. Rely more heavily on floor lighting in the stage and lighting off the 50-foot observation deck, and then you've got a clear view of the fountains, which could be included lighting-wise as part of the show like how Millennium Force, Giant Wheel, and Power Tower are at CP. (Or at least that's what was mentioned when Luminosity was announced... I haven't heard anything to that effect since, and I haven't seen the show myself.) I don't know that I'd like the show to be exactly like Cedar Point's, either. The impression I get from the photos I've seen is that it's very futuristic and heavy-bass pop-oriented. Those are fitting choices for CP, but I feel like pushing the futuristic aspect at Kings Island, combined with the large area the stage would likely include at the base of the tower/head of the fountains, would likely damage the atmosphere of International Street. I can't think of a substantial example off the top of my head of what theme would look good, but it would need to be something that still blends into International Street during the day when all the effects are off.

Just don't put a huge ugly stage in front of the Eiffel Tower.

Never. I could ride coasters all day, although that may be due to a smaller height/younger age or something.

Has anyone read the rumor on Screamscape saying that a new coaster for 2014 saying something very large? Take it with a grain of salt.

Yes - blacking out can be a VERY serious thing. There are many reasons this can happen - some being deadly. Consult your doctor, but be sure to explain that you enjoy coasters but are afraid of the problems some of them cause. I, fortunately, have never had this experience. Matter of fact, when we took the 8th graders to CP at the end of the school year, I graded finals while on the Cedar Creek Mine Ride. I think the atrocities committed on the essays kept my brain from graying-out!

Someone's pride a little wounded? A. Silence would have been a better FUN response. B. I thought SIX and FUN didn't compete for the same customers and spheres of influence. Well?

I'm sure most people here have gold/platinum passes, but just as a reminder, the regular/blue season passes aren't valid after Labor Day. Just making sure everyone knows.

I voted White Lightning. I think looks like a fun little ride that packs a punch for the entire ride (albeit it a very short one, haha) I think this ride will show once again that a ride doesn't have to be the biggest/fastest/most inverted ride to be an outstanding ride.

I can ride all day err day. (Don't really talk like that, but I found it necessary in this situation!) As stated before, this is probably due to my young age.

I rode FD 15 times in a row 2 years ago. I could of kept going too but their was atleast one person in each spot after that and we would have to go back though whole line. I can take pain on coasters to as of right now. Which would explain my name. Like TheCrypt I can ride all day.

Going with the Outlaw. That just looks intense and fun from start to finish. Now if we knew more about Iron Rattler, perhaps I could consider that. Need more info there. Gatekeeper will be a blast as well.

Remember, if you do go for an after glow party at your local tavern, make sure you do not drink and drive. Police will be on the look out, as they always do at that time of night for drivers that have had too much to drink. You do not have to be falling down drunk to be arrested for impaired driving. So be safe and do not get behind the wheel.

I have to say, AE is one of the most underrated coasters in the world, and I think it's just a matter of perspective, given the selection of other major coasters in the park.

This one was actually posted on twitter, I found it somewhat funny. Person- KingsIslandPR- Person- Really? I didn't see any attitude, haha.

Don't care what the name will be as long as it's a giga. Haven't experienced a B&M giga, but I have been on Millenium and I love that one. If the B&M's are as good as what folks are saying, then I'm all for it. I like what Shaggy posted, but I was figuring that they would utilize the old SOB spot considerably more...I had heard an old rumor that the folks at KI don't want to place anything in there that at least "appears" to be larger than the Eiffel Tower. Then again, that may have changed by now. Was that some of the reason that SOB was built where it was and the way it was? Meaning, it appeared to be lower than the tower from the interstate.

The only thing I can see them completing by next season is concrete walkways....... And possibly the start of a coaster, flat, maybe some shops. How does KI typically begin new sections? Buildings first or attractions... That's after the paths of course(someone would have mentioned it!) Who ever said KI was putting a new section there? Just askin' Once again. Our hopes and dreames .

^^Actually, there will be many roller coasters at Kings Island next year. About 15 of 'em.

Adventure Express and Flight Deck are going to feel like very, very different rides for me. SOB was like a huge wall that kinda held the other two coasters in something of a large room. I'm trying to imagine AE with the open sky to the north-northwest.
